I am just taking your first roll for 2 reasons 1 I like taking the first roll and adding what it needed and second because it's a nat 20.
"This is the room I came into, my coffin was one set to keep me protected, but magic like that fades."
Talinian you would know that any type of magic used to protect a tomb would last anywhere from 1k-10k years.
As you look around you do find a ripped of piece of paper, high quality paper, and you can see at the torn edge a section of it is the mark of your school.
Talinian examines the scrap carefully, then looks on the ground, the walls, in cracks and behind everything. There had to be more.
ooc: Does he find anything else? Is the mark just the symbol of the school or does it have arcane significance? To move things along I'm going to assume it's just a clue as to perpetrator but nothing more. Also, did he find any more magic anywhere, behind something or hidden by something?
Talinian shows the scrap to the others. "In order to determine which magic or spell was used to summon Strong as Oak, I think I will have to go to the school, unless one of you has some idea or insight." It is clear from the tiefling's demeanor and bearing that he is perfectly serious and more than willing to listen to ideas from anyone on this subject.
Yeah you don't see any left over magic, the coffin has faded, slightly more than last time you looked at it, other than that no. Correct on the perpetrator.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bones shakes his head, "Sadly I don't know the spell with which to locate objects. It would definitely make our job here significantly easier. I'll have Cinder take another look around for any more scraps like that, in case we can find something that gives us a little more to work off."
Cinder then scurries around the museum, searching for anything else that might help (Perception: 7).
"In the meantime though, perhaps I can repair some of these displays with some mending," Bones says as he looks back at the various displays that came to life.
"I think our next step is for me to head to the school with this remnant of paper and find out what I can about whatever was used to summon this spirit. I believe the direct approach will work best. In the meantime, the three of you can proceed with recovering the items already removed."
Talinian waits around for his companions to agree with this idea or offer suggestions of their own.
"Strong as Oak, could you perhaps help us locate the missing items and correcting the displays," Bones says after a moment to think, "Talinian, I hope that the school offers some insight, but I'll keep thinking here as to what else might help us identify the culprit." He then looks to Pietersite and Mia, "Can either of you think of something, perhaps that we have overlooked? And maybe if we are going to be splitting up, then no one should go alone either."
"I will show you when you when you show me that you know how to let me rest." Strong as Oak is adamant about that. "As for the corrections...."
Strong as was being displayed as a barbarian war lord, when in reality he was a druid, and a hermit. Lords and kings of old use to come to him, receive advice, offer him a place at their court, which he always turned down. The two bears were his pets, and proctors. The elves were his adopted sons, he does not remember the details of how it why they ended up in his custody, but they were, and he lived them.
Talinian, I would assume that you wait till the morning to go to the school, and you would know that the Campus Magus is the best place to start. The school is as you remember it. The court yard has 3 different classes going on at the time you come in, you remember each of these teachers only one sees you, pauses their lesson gives you a wave and then returns to the students. As you make your way to the Campus Magus' office, you would know that early in the morning that is where he would be. The door is open and he is sitting at his desk writing. Celenwe was not what one would think of when thinking of a Magus at a magic school, much let alone the Campus Magus. For starters he was a moon elf, while the magical schools were more open than the rest of the world, the moon elves had stuff such a bad name that any moon elves now had to double prove the quality of their character. Second, he was hug, and not just for an elf, he stands right around 6 foot tall, and over 200 pounds, slender was not a description for Celenwe. He had the outer robe of the Campus Magus, but normally had it off to show off his biceps, because his shirts never had sleeves. He keeps a long sword at his side, you have once seen him sword fight with a guard once, not as a true fight but a training exercises for the guard. Lastly as always Celenwe had his tinted googles on, "That blasted sun, what ever god thought it needed to be so bright should be hit." you had heard this be said many times while you were still a student here. He looks up, "Talinian, the color of your skin." The joke of a nick name that he started to call you after you started to call yourself Talinian the Blue. "My boy welcome home." He stands up, wipes ink off his hands onto his pants and walks to you and shakes your hand. "Please have a seat." He grabs a chair pulls it to infront of his desk then goes and sits behind it. "Tell me how are your travels? Do you feel as if your Abroad Time has come to a close? Tell me stories. But first what would you like to drink?" After you tell him what you want he olds up a finger to ask you to wait one moment the speaks again "Well start." While you are talking a young female gnome comes in with a tray holding what ever you would have wanted and a pitcher of mead for Celenwe.
After being show into the Magus' office. "Thank you, Magus. Allow me to introduce my companion. This is Mialee. My time Abroad has been fruitful but I am not yet ready for it to end. I have learned much, and wish to learn much more, particularly about the undead. My companions and I have encountered them much, of late. But," he holds up a hand for he well knows this will have piqued the Magus' curiosity, "that is not why I am here, nor is this a visit in the true sense of that word. We are here, in Tineford, on a job for the Guild."
Briefly, he describes the mission and what they found at the museum and what they learned from Strong as Oak and what they promised him. Finally, he shows the Magus the scrap.
Celenwe takes the scrap of paper and looks at it a bit. "The undead." You can sense some irritation in his voice, "Do you know how many people I have spoken to about the undead over my 12 years as Magus? 5!” He yells the 5 and stands up. “Five times in 12 years, and you are 3 in the past 3 months, what does that mean…” he trails off as turning his back to you and looks out his window. “What is your interest in the undead?” If you wish to make any checks right now you may, 3 that I have thought of would be fist an insight check to see if you can get and insight on why he is reacting the way he is, a general charisma check to see what kind of history the two of you have giving some knowledge of where he stands on different topics, perception check is another one that I will offer as a thought, you may pick anything else of course, these are just some of my thoughts. You may make as many as 5 checks that you want, just know that the more that you do the higher the DCs are going to be.

(Sorry, finally catching up...) (Mia would have been willing to go with Talinian if no one else was going, as she felt as though she did a good sweep of this area where I believe Bone's said they were staying?) (The silent warrior that she is, she would follow along quietly and respectfully taking in the surroundings of Talinian's environment. Depending on how they wanted to handle the discussion, Mia would stand respectfully outside of the door, or inside by it, arms held in front.)
Perception: 14 + Guidance: 3 (To listen in on the conversation and for her awareness of her surroundings.)
Insight: 21 + Guidance: 4 (Depending on what she can hear/see, she'd try to discern the intentions and emotions behind anything before jumping to conclusions on any danger.)
Talinian would know that Celenwe does not like Necromancy, in fact some of the most evil and notorious necromancers were Moon Elves, and Celenwee does everything he can to separate himself from his kind. His reaction is somewhat angry as if people are coming to him thinking he has some knowledge of the topic due to being a Moon Elf. You also see that his hand is on the hilt of his sword, you feel that it is mostly a defensive posture.
How do you answer his question of "what is your interest in the undead?"
Mia would have been offered a seat and a drink as well, and noticed the sword and the defensive posture, and been maybe more sure that he was ready to defend himself not attack.
“My interest extends to destroying them and protecting myself and others from them, Magus.” He pauses, glances at Mialee with both consternation and apology then continues, “But that is not my purpose in coming here. I need to know how to put this spirit to rest and who would have summoned it and why. Can you assist with either of those things?“
Celenwe relaxes, releases his grip on his sword and turns back to you.
"Well it would all depend on a lot of factors. This spirit… no, not yet, there are different ways to handle this situation but first. Who could have done this. For starters there was this mayor who came almost a year ago now, asking about the undead, I doubt it was him. Then there was Xyrowym, a quiet Gnome woman, she is… well she is not going to succeed with magic, and she seemed very off from herself when she came to ask me. Lastly is a former student, who has been spending a lot of time back here, Falami, and that is where I would start. As for this spirit that needs to be returned to their rest, where can I find it, I might not be a master at the undead, but, I know a few things that I must look at before looking into my personal library on how to send them back.”
"The mayor my companions and I have met. He will not be an issue going forward. He was seeking ways to raise the dead, something to do with his wife. He has been dealt with. The spirit in question is named Strong as Oak and he can be found at the newmuseum." Talinian glances at Mialee, a grim look on his face. "Where can we find Falami?"
"Normally, in our libary, some days she tends to travel out. Seeing as she is still truely Abroud I do not question her much so I am unsure where she goes." He lets out a deep breath as he thinks, "Ok I will be able to get there later this afternoon to look into this spirit. For now, I must get to my first class of the day, it is going to be a busy one." He grabs his Magus robe and waits on you to walk out of his offce before walking out with you, giving the office a wave with his hand and heading away from his office, "Ohh yes, if you can't find Falami Xyrowym has become a big fan of hers, Xyrowym is working in the garden this month."
While Talinian and Mia are away at the school, Bones spends his time with Strong as Oak, correcting displays and jotting notes as they move through the museum.
Bones they would have waited till day break, would you be trying to work with him during the day time while people are awake? If so I need you to persuade both Strong as Oak and Glynnis to allow this to happen Strong as Oak's fear is people trying to hurt and kill him, knowing that this route might allow him to leave this plane there is no guarantee that he goes back to where he wants.
