Nuzej looks at the remains of the one who outsmarted him. Pointing at Xemnez, he says sardonically, "he thought fastest."
Turning back to Xemnez, he whispers, "you're my new favorite" before the warrior has a chance to run off.
Then this new one arrives, the "sarding" cleric with a sword and he nearly goes into a ready stance when she speaks and demands the rock. He's about to quip that she'll have a lot of luck getting it away from the leonine battlerager, when said warrior drops it into Nuzej's hand. He looks up at Xemnez with wide eyes, who then bounds off to ruin someone else's day. He barely notices the world shake yet again in his surprise.
His gaze turns back to the cleric, and he shrugs. "You may have seen Kyriani try to give this to us. Before. Before them. And their chaos and death and raiding. I'd hate to think you're one of them. Do what Xemnez said, bring Kyriani, join us, and we can hash things out amid fewer explosions and interruptions. If you're a good cleric, you can ask Kyriani yourself."He almost-winks, more of an eye twitch with a half-grin, walks north past Kyriani, looking down briefly with a wincing, sympathetic expression -- he'd like to stop and feed her a potion, but he thinks that this won't be useful at the moment, given whatever the cleric did. (Does her chest rise and fall or is she gone?)
What he does next depends on who is still standing nearby, after Xemnez's assault.
Xemnez address the new comer, then turns and drops the stone in Nuzej's hand before leaping past them both and sliding over the bar between the two newest assailants. He turns to the one already behind the bar. Nezmos, which felt strangely heavy and had stopped its sparking, once again lights up with power as he gets away from the Selune warrior that had demanded the rock. The ground also begins shaking with considerable more power and a clay roofing tile tumbles through a hole in the ceiling and crashes down onto the ground next to him, shattering into a hundred pieces. Trying to keep his footing, Xemnez ensures Nezmos carves through the air smoothly. As he strikes again and again, the lightning crackling...though he realizes these two newcomers are no mere thugs...they move with practiced talented motions of formidable warriors, and even as he strikes the first one, it's clear that the man is able prevent the blows from being deadly. Still, blood flies and the warrior, who is wearing a breastplate, is twitching slightly from the electric current coursing through him. It would take a bit of work to dispatch these two foes. Still, he's left his mark on this first one, who is favoring his leg thanks to a clean blow, and looks like he's grievously injured and a bit blurry eyed.
Nuzej meanwhile looks at the rock in his hand and the back of the golden Leonin warrior, and then takes a moment to look down at Kyriani. The priestess's look badly burned and is bleeding, though he does note that she appears to be breathing...if very shallowly. Without help she may yet be facing her last few moments.

Nuzej watches Xemnez tear into A-17, expecting them to fall, and a bit taken aback that the foe is still standing.
He continues walking north, feeling for his spell to wink back into existence, and also testing the telepathic link. "...ting? Testing? Ah." He looks down at his displacer cloak and grips his staff, and, assuming they are working as they should, he looks at the group staring him down. He hears the other group at the end of the hall, stunned but still approaching, and... whatever that snake thing was. Gross. He briefly considers trying out his new T-Rex form to try biting some heads off and to hide the stone even better, but, unsure about the cleric's intentions and the state of her spell that shuts down magic, he goes for something more instantaneous. Especially given, as he now realizes, the ground is really shaking. (If CON check to maintain globe of invulnerability spell is needed: 23)
He moves around Kyriani, but hugs the wall, trying to stay away from the approaching baddies. He can see the "faintly shimmering" globe of invulnerability that just barely exists outside of the sphere that this new cleric manifested, and he stays within it, trying to deter any arcane interference, subtle or otherwise, as he begins casting.
Smarting from the cancellation of his lightning, he foregoes a chain reaction version of the same spell in favor of something more... illuminating. He points to a spot in the middle of the room, at the destroyed ceiling and a sunburst appears. A miniature sun that fills the entire room with a searing, white-hot flash of light. Yet there are sunspots, dark ones, contained within the sphere's surface.
Each creature in the room is blinded and takes 47 radiant damage on a failed CON 19 save, or half on a success (and no blinding).
Everyone... except those in the shadow of those well-placed sunspots. That would be: Thyrius, Simaal, the water elemental, Toc, Xemnez, Nuzej himself, as well as the cleric and Kyriani, though they are protected within the antimagic shell. Plus anyone else he can see within the room that he knows to be a bystander from Thyrius' telepathic updating of the illusions. The people in the sunspots' shadows automatically make their saves, are not blinded, and take no damage thanks to Nuzej's evocative ability to sculpt spells.
He then ducks back inside the antimagic shell, not excited about the rumbling, and taking a chance that the cleric will not try to hit him with her sword for the stone. He keeps that in a pouch at his belt, that he holds with his free hand. He ends next to Kyriani, crouching by her, glancing to make sure her chest is still rising and falling, and ready to lift her by her shoulders if the cleric wants to grab her feet, should it come to that, though he doesn't expect it right away.

Nuzej moves out of the anti-magic, and just into his sphere of protection. The ground beneath him shakes violently but he continues to focus on his spell as he summons forth a massive burst of magic energy to unleash into the space. If he positions it just so...he'll avoid Simaal and the water elemental entirely...and get the entire rest of the room. With masterful control over the magic, he forms small sun spots, for as many as he can including those of his allies, Kit-kat the waitress, and a small handful of the scattered bodies of patrons that may still yet be alive....using Thyrius' insight into those around the one table being disguised. With all this done in mere moments, he unleashes the magic.
Everything is illuminated by a painful bright light, the sun momentarily visiting the interior of the building and flashing with a harsh, corrosive brilliant power. There are numerous screams and yells as foes succumb to the radiant energy, and yells of alarm as yet more are momentarily blinded by the brilliance. As the light fades, Nuzej steps back into the anti-magic sphere while surveying the results of his spell.
Precious few of the enemies have fallen..****y 4...but a majority of them are clutching their eyes in shock as they stumble about blinded. The horrific floating insect thing shimmers and turns back into a man who drops 15 feet and lands with a crunching thud on the floor, followed by a heavy "ooof" as the wind is knocked out of him. (2 falling damage.)
The shaking of this entire building continues.
(missed one: guy4 save: 22 vs DC 19)
Toc meanwhile looks about at the small crowd of blind, stunned, and prone enemies before him as the ground shakes violently. He waves a hand, letting loose a spell that has no apparent affect. Then he leaps up into the air slight and lands...in mid air, standing just 4 feet up, almost level with the top of the bar, and overtop of the slew of prone enemies. Most importantly though, he's no longer being violently shaken back and forth. Some rubble tumbles from above and clatters onto some invisible rooftop above him. Thyrius' vision can see that Toc has erected an invisible floating structure of force, with a large floor floating above the ground, and a ceiling ten feet above it, just beneath the taverns ceiling, and two 'pillars' connecting them.
His water elemental continues to throw itself against flames, though with the destructive earthquake, the creatures task may be mostly pointless. Still it slams against a wall, dousing the flames in the north....but then seems to lose itself in the fire and evaporates into nothing.
Zhuti growls at the lion as he commands her to come with them, and responds, “No! We are not leaving these people to die! This is a temple to Selûne, and I will not flee. No lich can stand on this ground, and you seem to have their minions in hand.” This last probably falls on deaf ears as the lion man leaps away to try to murder another someone. As the monk rushes away (and then back), Zhuti stands to survey the room. She is looking for the high level caster who is causing all this mayhem… surely there is someone…

Zhuti glances around the room. Well, that guy that turned himself in a floating bug snake spirit creature is probably a high level caster. (A12). She's also seen that guy over there casting spells pretty consistently....he's tough to see having sprawled flat on the ground and hidden by smoke, but she can make him out. (Guy4). However, she has seen NO sign of whoever it is who has been sending meteors through the ceilings and who is causing this earthquake to shake the entire building.

(OOC: I'm posting a bit ahead of time as I won't be able to do so tomorrow and I don't want to hold up the game. Hopefully the bad guys who go after Zhuti but before Thyrius won't change the battlefield too drastically!)
Thyrius knew better than to defy his brother's commands during battle. However, before he has a chance to follow his orders, his would-be target loses its horrific bug form and crashes to the ground. He then spots the other caster laying flat on the ground and chooses to take advantage of his precarious situation. High risk, high reward!
Thyrius stands up, approaches the prone Guy4 and stabs twice right after evoking a Spirit Shroud on himself:
-> Attack vs Guy 4 with Dragon’s Wrath Dagger (Wakened): -> 1st stab (Spirit Shroud, Eldritch Maul, Lifedrinker): Attack: 33 Damage: 54 -> 2nd stab (Thirsting Blade, Spirit Shroud, Eldritch Maul, Lifedrinker): Attack: 33 Damage: 58 -> Sneak Attack rolled separately as it can apply to either attack, so whichever one hits: 11 (if crit, add another: 10) -> On a crit, any enemy within 5ft of Guy4 takes 5 acid damage. -> If one of the attacks hits, Guy4 takes an additional 6 necrotic damage (Wails of the Grave). If there is any enemy within 30ft of Guy4, that one enemy also takes this damage. -> If hit, Guy4 cannot regain hit points until the start of Thyrius's next turn. -> Any creature (enemies of my choice) starting its turn within 10ft of Thyrius has its speed reduced by 10ft until the start of Thyrius's next turn.
If Guy4 happens to fall to these attacks, Thyrius will retreat toward his brother using his remaining movement, which I believe is 30ft after standing up from prone (started with 70ft.)
Zhuti scans the room, then ducks back down behind the bar, moving to Kyriani’s side, shoving Nujez if she needs to make room. “Let’s go, girl,” she says, cradling the woman’s head. She murmurs and touches the woman’s closed eyes.
Move: naw, she feels right here is good Action: cast Cure Wounds at 1st level on Kyriani just to get a baseline, saving big gun healing slots for the moment.
Zhuti scans the room, then ducks back down behind the bar, moving to Kyriani’s side, shoving Nujez if she needs to, to make room. She wordlessly inspects Kyriani, seeking to figure out how she is, and to stabilize her if she needs to. “No dying on me today, girl,” she says quietly.
Action: Medicine check to stabilize and/or identify Kyriani’s health status. 29

Zhuti slides over to Kyriani, and wraps up the worst of her wounds with a few quick movement. She checks her breathing, and pushes her over onto her back so her airway is clear. Kyriani is badly injured, but won't die in the next few minutes.
From out of the smoke to the south, a bolt flies, whistling narrowly past Zhuti and headed towards Nuzej...
Attack on Nuzej: 20 Damage: 11 + 12. If the bolt hits, Nuzej feels the sudden burn of poison in him. (DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 24 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.)
A man leaps out of the smoke and onto the bar top and fires another bolt at Nuzej.
Attack on Nuzej: 17 Damage: 8. If the bolt hits, Nuzej feels the sudden burn of poison in him. (DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 21 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.)
The transforming bug/snake mage lifts up off the ground and, still in normal human form, flies up into the air and closer to the bar as he hovers amidst the violent shaking of the building.
Two of the other men sporting spears and swords come stumbling through the smoke trying to keep their footing as they approach the bar.
Meanwhile, Thyrius pushes himself to his feet. The ground continues to shake violently and moving is difficult (the entire bar is difficult terrain). But he reaches the prone wizard who looks up at him, a glimmer of anger, but also fear in his eyes. Thyrius swipes down, though his blow deflects off of a momentary shield of magic that turns the blade away. However, as if Thyrius were waiting for this, he smoothly steps to one side and drives his blade directly into the neck of the man. Spirits swarm around him and there's a long shrieking yell from as the man's very spirit seems to lift out of his body. Nearby, one of blind, stumbling foes suddenly bats the air around him and several spirits assault him.
Leaving the dead man behind, Thyrius stumbles partially back towards the bar but doesn't get too far as the floor boards practically dance beneath his feet.
Simaal is up! (reminders: Ground is difficult terrain.)
(the blue platform is invisible, but Simaal has enough information to know that it exists, and he can see that Toc stands on it, without being shaken around like the rest of this place.)

Simaal narrows his eyes very briefly (bonus action) and raises slightly of the ground then "runs" rapidly down towards the exit and a little to his left. He's moving his feet and hands fast as if running, but he's actually slightly off the ground and flying.
Originally he was actually closer to Toc as he tried to "stab" one of his attackers, but still on stairs, basically another 10 feet down. With move 60 flying, he lands in the fog at Kit Kat's last known location.
He then reaches down and narrows his eyes again as he touches her shoulder 14 healing. He says "under attack, flee" in her mind, hoping she's alive and conscious.
Simaal hovers at high speed across the room, just off the ground and immune to the violent shaking, managing to make it to a point next to the server, Kit Kat. He reaches down, touching her shoulder. Her face covered in ash and dirt, blood decorating her body, her eyes manage to blink open, fluttering away the bits of ash in her eyelashes. She looks up at Simaal. He looks into her eyes and speaks into her mind. She takes a deep breath, and then her pupils dilate and she looks around....in the thick smoke. She nods in understanding to Simaal, her mouth working, "Thank you..." she says.
The ground continues to heave about, the building shedding bits at random into the room. Several beams let loose terrible cracking sounds and then there's a loud grinding crackling sound that rips across the room as several large rents open in the floor, furniture and bodies toppling sideways into the gashes. The rents go through the floor beneath you can see fragments of the basement, rents open in the very rock beneath the building and into the darkness.
One of the main beams above bursts apart sending a big chunk of roofing and ceiling crashing to the floor, smashing more tables and crashing across the floor.
The men all knocked to their feet beneath Toc seem to come back to awareness, no longer stunned by the mental assault of Simaal. Prone...many of them blind, being shaking about in a chaotic smokey environment, they are well and truly disoriented. Worse...as they attempt to push themselves to their feet, the smash their backs and heads into an invisible, immobile force just above them, many of the stumble back and crash into the ground once more.
Everyone make a Con 15 saving throw. If you fail, you acquire 1 level of Exhaustion from smoke inhalation.
Thyrius and Xemnez who are standing on the floor outside of the anti-magic sphere, must make a DC 20 Dex save or be knocked prone.

(A19 and A22 both fall into the crevice in the floor, and you hear the heavy sounds of their armored bodies clattering down below as they yell in surprise.)
Coughing, Nuzej examines himself, beaten and burned from the meteors, now poked with holes and full of poison. He doesn't look good, he doesn't feel good. He looks at the chaos, and the cleric, and Kyriani. And the foes closing in on him. He's not sure he'll last much longer. He needs to try something else. He almost asks Jezun for help, but he doesn't want to throw him into the cauldron like this. Nuzej can handle it.
He says to the cleric, "I will transform into a large ape to keep the stone away from them and preserve my own life. We can work with you to survive this and then ascertain next steps after. I can take Kyriani if that is easier, just move your... field. That floating wizard is Toc, he can help. Good luck. My name's Nuzej, by the way."
He steps north again out of the antimagic field, into the NE corner, still protected by his own sphere, but a bedraggled, burned, slim little wizard in the smoke. He says over the link, "I am much diminished. I possess the Eye. I will protect it as a polymorphed ape. This place is disintegrating. Toc, will your refuge suffice? The cleric seems capable and perhaps not hostile. Kyriani is barely alive. Does anyone have a plan? Departure or disaster response? My firefighting abilities are underprepared. Now, forgive the diminished elocution."
Nuzej casts polymorph on himself into a giant ape. Deep, hollow chest thumpy bangs emit from the smoke. Snorting. The smoke swirls as he bursts out of it, roaring at A17.
Over the link, "ZEDGE SMASH!"(I forgot the link would still work, the giant ape's intelligence is a whopping 7! And you don't have to share a language for it to work.)

She murmurs and touches the woman’s closed eyes.Move: naw, she feels right here is goodAction: cast Cure Wounds at 1st level on Kyriani just to get a baseline, saving big gun healing slots for the moment.Heal 14 hpey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).

Nuzej CON save: 23

Thyrius's CON saving throw {DC 15}: 18
Nuzej CON save: 19
Over the link, "ZEDGE SMASH!" (I forgot the link would still work, the giant ape's intelligence is a whopping 7! And you don't have to share a language for it to work.)
