Knox puts his weapon away and steps forward to try and help Wendigo reverse the grapple, getting Miles under control.

Miles:

Miles can’t hit a 27, even on a natural 20, so you win that grapple check.  After searching Wendigo’s pockets the best he could inside a scrum, Miles’ addled mind barely registers that it is someone different wrestling him now.

”Ah, so you’re the thief!” He exclaims, focusing on Knox, the remaining person in the grapple.

Athletics:  13

(Everyone else is up, Wendigo needs to contest the grapple but would still have an action afterwards if he wins.)

(Knox needs to contest, not Wendigo)

(Right, sorry.  Knox.)

In trying to help Wendigo get free of Miles, the small, but strong halfling turns his anger on Knox.

"Please my friend, none of us has stolen anything from you!"

Knox tries to resist Miles.

Knox fails to resist Miles, the halfling dodging Knox' more clumsy manoeuvres and gets him firmly in his grip.

Knox looks at the others.

"Could someone please try to restrain him? I am not having any luck."

Jhazaal casts guidance on knox.

Knox attempts to reverse grapple Miles, hoping if both of them are restraining each other, that someone else may be able to try and bind Miles.

Miles:

(Could we just let Miles check everyone's pockets/ bags?  Maybe it would satisfy the madness requirement and he'd calm down (with DM approval of course))

(I mean, you can try.  I'm not averse to letting people weasel out of things through roleplay.)

OOC:  I am good with that, if I get to narrate for Miles and the others are all willing to let him search their pockets in his maddened state.

Miles:

Ranting and raving, MIles goes from person to person and checks their belongings, looking for his precious recipes--yes even poor catatonic Vera .  Not finding them and getting increasingly agitated, Miles' eyes get bright and he leaps over towards the wall, plucking up the vaguely misshapen octopus-like corpse and expertly harvesting its body parts, mumbling "Yes...yes...this will be my finest creation!"  With all the body parts neatly in rows, Miles grabs the biggest, slimiest, goopiest lump and bites into it.  

At that instant, his expression changes to one of horror, and he looks around at the devastation he has wrought, saying meekly, "Did I do that?"

Knox stand stationary as the halfling cook goes through all of his possessions, looking for his imagined missing recipes, not that Knox has any option in the matter.

Once the halfling moves on to the others, Knox finally notices Vera's condition.

Knox comes over to check on her when Miles jumps on her and starts rummages through her things as well.

Once Miles moves on, Knox bends down to check on the almost catatonic half-elf.

"Vera, are you ok?"

(I'm assuming that it's okay to come out of the comatose state.  If not then please ignore)

To Vera, her nightmare seems to drag on endlessly as she watches her former crew die over and over again without being able to help.  After seemingly watching the scene occur a near infinite amount of times, the scene in front of her finally changed. Partway through one of the ambushes, all the participants seemed to stop where they stood and stared directly at her.  In unison, they all began to repeat her name over and over again , first quietly and then more loudly, in a monotone voice that vaguely registered as familiar.  Once their chant became so loud that it seems unbearable, she was suddenly shocked awake, staring directly at the mechanical face of Knox.  Instinct taking over, she rolled away from the cleric and shot up to her feet, keeping the party in front of her, before asking both quizzingly and accusingly ,  "Where am I?" as she frantically looked around at her surroundings.  Beginning to get her bearings, she recognized the rest of the party and adds,  "And what happened?"  

Knox stares at Vera with his expressionless face tilted to one side, before turning to look at Miles.

Turning back, Knox speaks,

"It would appear that both you and Miles had some kind of temporary malfunctions."

"Miles was completely convinced that one of us had stolen some recipe of his and you were almost completely non-responsive, huddled in the corner there."

Knox points where Vera was crouched,

"But you both seem to have come out of your malfunctions at the same time."

"And given the timing of the start, it would suggest perhaps that creature was the cause."

Knox points at the corpse Miles is standing over, his hands still holding a chunk of it flesh.

Wendigo lets out something like a sigh and a growl simultaneously.

"We go. Should not linger. In case it... happens again."
