Tetrevess speaks to the paladin. “Sometimes, the enemy of our enemy can be useful. Which is worse- the demon or this place and it’s master?” To gravity, he says “this is twice I’ve helped save your life. Don’t forget it. Ana- my mission is to get these stones, and find what else we can in this place, and do as much damage to these evil plans in the process. “
Tetrevess will bonus action telekinetic shove Sam back to safe land from the pit if he’s about to fall in. We will leave the skeletons behind.
“where to then? To the balor? Continue down this passage?”
Creep chugs down the cloudy-white floating liquid from a tiny vial (Potion of Flying), and the potion makes her feel dizzy and light-headed when she gains flying speed.
For the next few consecutive turns, she will use a Hammer to pound Pitons into the ceiling of the passage and keeps humming and singing merrily while attaching the hook-and-rope to the first set of pitons placed right over the first pit.
"Hold the other end of the rope tightly, Ana. I believe, the knot is durable enough to support your weight."
(Edit: Gravity is looking for Seodra, and please excuse her for showing lack of empathy, I'll try to portray her differently than previous time as I've been recommended to do so.)

According to Moghaddam, Seodra is believed to be held in the Temple of Moloch. She went to retrieve the gem eyes from the statue without damaging them. She never returned. You met some of her team, one... escaped with his life (survived js wrong, because he was killed and eaten, (not in that order) but a PC brought him back with Logan's (the mechanical guide) help.
Kwalish sent you to get the stones noting that they are part if the reason Acererack ascended to the power ge holds in modern, time across the planes. Sam is aware of this. Tetrevess probably learned this back at the tavern outside the temple of Moloch. Kwalish himself doesn't actually care about the death curse in Chult. That us where his great great grandson lives who originally commissioned a party to find Kwalish's journal. He lives in a demiplane and seems unconcerned with matters of life and death or even good and evil. He is a member of the Fraternity of Order, because he is extremely Lawful neutral. So if something threatened Mechanus, he might care, but at the moment, he just wants the stones.
That is so much exposition. Ultimately, I don't want to tell you where you should go. You should decide. Left is good, right is good. Its up to you. I will say that there are 3 more stones in temple of Moloch and leveling in this part of the campaign (the part with the stones) is linked to acquiring stones.
Gravity's rope rig is sufficient to hold the weight of any PC who tries to cross. A single DC 12 Athletics check is needed to do so. On a failed save, you'll fall, probably into a pit. Jumping is also possible, but it's 10ft. Normal jump mechanics apply.
Anyone who gets close enough to peer into the second and third pits sees the following:
Pit 2: a pair umber hulk exoskeleton lay inanimate on the floor
Pit 3: the skeleton of a large wolf-headed humanoid
Looking closely you will see chains attached to the walls of these pits and the edge of a door to the south within each, just as in the first pit.
Has Sam dropped the wind wall spell? The pit still had 2 skeletons and is filling with water. It's about half full or half empty or 5ft deep at the moment.
Creep stares at the retreating figure of the half-dragon and mutters something under her breath that vaguely sounds like the word 'fool'. Then she hovers over the entrance of the second pit, bends forward and forces out a mouthful of saliva into the pit while expressing distaste.
"I ain't going anywhere near that matching pair of hulking skeletons. Boss Moghaddam probably lied about the current location of Seodra and kept her locked in one of these pits. Still...I don't know if I should trust the words of Nolzur."
The party also met Tasha's great grand-daughter. She's currently running the show aboard the collapsing planar craft Kwalish is obsessed with restoring to functionality for ... reasons. Her deal is trying to find the book of Vile Darkness (actually 1 of seven volumes, rhey are unique but hold most of the same information. I think of them like an OS with the same kernel, or a browser built on Chromium, etc.) and she thinks she can get hold of it from a seat of power in the Temple that is that craft. She and her patron/ ancestor are all about demons. That could be relevant because sometimes these modules (and I specifically mean these extra life ones) just give you a doorway to a whole world and say, yeah this doorway your players have goes to this whole other world, enjoy. Remember that, now.
The hallway ends 40ft past the third and final pit, then turns right. There is a very long, dimly lit corridor heading North with a door at the end. (It's not locked)
Creep silently watches the movement of the party and prevents the drastic fall of Ana by grabbing the sleeves of her clothing and hurling her upwards. Then she moves towards Sam and attempts to deviate him from the chosen course of action by saying:
"It seems like they're doing fine without us"- she keeps tying another knot to secure the length of the hempen rope ('borrowed' from Ana) around the surface of the second grappling hook, then adds:
"Let's split into two separate factions. They are sussing out the whereabout of Seodra, and we're going to rescue Pentival from his possible doom."
<Nobody is in danger of falling in a pit at the moment. You can choose to enter one, carefully so as to avoid fall damage, continue north through the long unexplored hall or go back the way you came, or ...?>
<Pentival walking away is kind of a timer. At some point he is going ro reach the balor, then...???>
Creep is trying to fly out of the ritual chamber through the large hole in the ceiling and attempting to intercept Pentival in the hall where the Balor is imprisoned. She doesn't want Pentival to engage in a face-to-face combat since Tarnhem's power will be overwhelming.
Pentival shoves him into the pit. "You're all on a path to the Abyss." He turns and walks back the way you came from, probably back toward the demon.
Sam: make a DC14 Dex save or acrobatics check (your choice) to not fall back in the pit for 2 fall damage.

“Should we head to try to save that foolish paladin, or just hurry for the other objectives?” Tetrevess asks.
Creep is en route. Waiting to see what the others decide.
