As you arrive in Mirabar, Matrix quickly looks over the crate before moving out muttering "should have known there was a teleportation ring there, lucky we came through in one piece... doesn't like teleportation much... ok I'm good here, wherever here is." Assuming Ink tells him "Mirabar eh? Did a job with a half elf here once... I did not enjoy it. He liked talking, a lot." In response to Ink's Hobgoblin comment Matrix responds with a gruff hmm of agreement.
As you enter the Retcon Tavern Dontontion sits with his back to the door, he has his hood pulled up like Marav used to. From behind he would appear to be Marav. Marav's prize bow sits on the table in front of him partially covered in a white cloth.
As you walk up to him you will see a big half elf. Almost the size of Marav, with long very well kept dark brown hair. A very stylish goatee adorns his face. A bandolier can be seen across his chest with numerous daggers. On his hips are silver daggers that are more ornate. He has a half empty tankard of ale sitting in front of him and he looks sad.
Without turning toward you he says, "I've been waiting for you. I have word of our mutual friend Marav."
"Oh, it's you... you look different Don... new hair?" Matrix will sit of to the side watching the room. you still haven't gotten a good look at his face.
Flint enters the tavern and takes in the group arrayed around Don's table. Noting Rip isn't here, Flint nods at Ink then pulls the cloth back over Marav's bow.
To Don: "best be tellin' us how ye got that lad."
To Ink: "ah see Rip made up 'is mind, where'd ye leave 'im?"
"Ah got somethin' ta do 'fore ah can leave, an ah'll need ye with me. Ah'll fill you in when Crownsguard gets here. Ah bet he's planning a grand entrance."
"We should wait for Crownsguard. This is the type of news that I don't want to have to tell more than once." He waves to the firbolg behidn the bar "Patches, refill for me and can you set up these fine fellows."
"Aye, that sounds good Patches, how's the missus?"
“Fine, thanks for asking,” says the large fellow, whose wife has been good friends with Flint for years. He passes over a light-colored ale to the dwarf cleric.
As he tells the story he seems smaller somehow, as though his words deflate him.
"My name is Dontontion, but feel free to call me Don, everyone does. I'm sure Marav has told you all about my sister Pim, his sponsor in the Emerald Enclave. About 2 weeks ago he contacted Pim telling her about this quest. He was seeking knowledge from Bahamut." He sighs and takes a deep drink.
"Pim gave me her sending stone and bid me to go help him. I tracked him down and when I found him... he was gone. He was following visions from Bahamut and ended up in a cave trying to commune with a very angry young white dragon."
Don carefully removes the cloth and you can see where dragon claws have snapped the bow into pieces. "I found his body at the base of the mountain. I don't think he fought back. His bow was on his back and his sword at his side." He reaches down and takes a bag off his belt. It makes a thud when he tosses it on the table. "He also had this."
"I am going to go back and kill that beast. Honestly though it might be more than I can handle alone. Interested?"
Ink picks up the long bow, "Err, Don, is it? I don't know why you said this longbow was in pieces - it seems whole to me. Also, despite never being in here before, I knew the bartenders name although no one had mentioned it to me." He looks around the tavern before saying, "We shouldn't stay long."
Ink sits quietly at the table, finally saying, "Yartar. Rip is in Yartar."
He then turns Flint and says, "I don't know what is going on here, but apparently, it's your call. So let me know what we're doing and when I should brief you on what I've learned.."
Flint raises his tankard full of thick, dark brown beer "Ta Marav! May yer spirit soar!" He then takes the bag off the table and looks inside. "Don? Ah'm Flint. Know ye o' our quest? Ye plannin' ta stay on wit' us?"
"Ye know we don't work that way Ink. Rip always put big words ta bein' in charge, an'e might've been in a way but we always worked things out as equals, an ah figure that's our way. Now, in ma time at th' temple this week, ah might've come up wit' a way ta purge th' curse from those tainted weapons ye're carryin' in that bag o' yours, an ah'd like ta try while we're 'ere. If yer good with that we could head there now an ye can fill us in on yer research on the way. An Crownsguard if we're ta do this ah'd like ye beside me. Ye got an aura about ye that guides me at times."
Crownsguard's new dwarven face seems somber at Marav's death, yet his posture lightens a bit at Flint's offer, "Yes, Flint. I would be happy to assist you. I have recently become better at Blessing others in a similar manner to yourself, so I believe I may be able to be of further assistance."

Don nods towards the bag, "I didn't want to leave anything of valuable on him. I buried him and left a marker so I could find him again."
//Inside the bag is all of Marav's gold, 2,364 gold pieces and 5 silver pieces.//
"If it helps... Ink is it? Marav told me he always looked to you to analyze a situation and come up with the best plan. He said he counted on Rip for heart, Ink for mind, Flint for soul and Crownsguard for humanity."
"I am not sure about joining you, but I'll stick around long enough to kill that dragon if that is your plan and to de-curse those weapons. Then we will see." He glares a bit at Matrix. "A word of warning, Matrix is good in a jam I'll give him that, but often enough we were in the jam because of him as well."
"Did Marav have anyone in his life we should give this ta? If not, what do we do? Split it? Put it ta some purpose?"
When we've finished our drinks, Flint leads the group to the temple of Moradin in the Northern part of town and asks to see the high hammer in private. He shows the weapons, mentions their backstory, and asks if he can make use of the altar for a cleansing ritual with the aid of an acolyte and for any advice that might be helpful.
"After his grandfather passed he only had Pim and then you guys. Pretty sure he'd want you to use it to finish the job. That was what he was trying to do. He said things were getting more dangerous by the day and that you all needed more power."
