Beedo peeks out from behind one of the rocks. "Mmm...Hark just keeping them. Maybe eat them. Maybe feed them to the blob." Beedo shrugs. "Depends on Hark's mood."
"I guess I do at that." he turns to address the guards. "When I first got here I wasn't sure if I could trust you. Living guards in the city of the dead just seems... wrong somehow. Now I know different," he smiles a little. "Let's go and get your people back and figure out what is going on around here." Marav raises his swords above his head crossed.
//OOC Am I to assume that as part of leveling up we're getting a long rest out of this, too? //
It is now early afternoon. The smoke from the funeral pyre in the middle of the village rises over the top of the houses and floats gently southward, passing over the nearby trading post and the neighboring farm.
// You can have a long rest, which will need to be taken at the appropriate time; that is, later tonight (but every hour you delay means another hour that the villagers are at the mercy of this Hark //
// What are you doing with the villagers' bodies? //
//After the short rest are any of the guards looking rested and in good shape? I'm thinking of scouting ahead and see if we can't get a view (from a distance of course), so we can have a better idea of what we are facing.//

// Understood; in that case, I'm assuming that the level up is being allowed regardless of being able to take a long rest or not. //
Looking to the remaining guards and solace, "We've had our breather... it's probably best that we be on our way to see about the villagers and this 'Hark.' Would you all be able to carry on here on your own? Will you be able to remove the bodies of the fallen villagers and properly store or inter them? I'm not sure if they have family nor do I know your local customs, but I do know that if we are extremely lucky and manage to succeed in this rescue mission, it would be best that they return to a home of which the more visceral evidence of carnage has been cleansed."
Ink looking towards the rest of the battered and bruised team asks, "What say you all? Ready to push on?"
Beedo scratches his head. "It's...black. And sticky."
Ink responds, "I may have heard of something like that before... not sure." { Roll for ability check: 12 , if history/arcana +5, any other intelligence check +3 }
//After the short rest are any of the guards looking rested and in good shape? I'm thinking of scouting ahead and see if we can't get a view (from a distance of course), so we can have a better idea of what we are facing.//
//Not talking "splitting" so much as running ahead... close enough you can get to me in a quick dash, but far enough so everyone won't be heard. Honestly if the trees are high enough and spaced enough I could climb a tree when we get close to take a look.//
"Agreed, the guards here'll know best how ta handle the townsfolks bodies. I'm ready, Let's do this."
Nodding to Marav, "I think Marav wants to run point, I'm okay with that... what's our marching order? I'd prefer to be in the middle somewhere if it's all the same to you."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
let's see if Rip knows what the blob is 4 +2= 12 nature 11history, use the roll that fits please 5 song of rest
Rip is busy writing down what happened, any who check would see that there were twice as many orcs and that the fallen guard heroically battled 6 at once, killing 4 before falling.
"That battle inspired me, and I think I figured out how to make me or someone else invisible! So I disguise myself, me Beedo and another invisible ally infiltrate and split the orcs forces then kill free kill. Unless someone else has a better plan? oh we should also set some sort of fire trap or something so we can kill the ones coming out in one fell swoop!"
//my HP is 12/21, Solace have any lay on hands charges left?//
