Hark has been confident in his ability to dodge out of the adventures attacks so far. However he’s never faced someone who uses the fighting style that Angel does and is surprised by the Hit across the jaw with the quarterstaff and is unprepared for the leg sweep. When Harks legs went out from under him he was caught by surprised and when he fell Hark hit his head hard against a particularly big rock that cracked the back of his skull. With his head bleeding like it was Angel was confident that Hark was dead. 

And so ends the goblin threat against Nightstone, at least for the moment. What do you do from here?

Flint glances around to make sure the fight is actually over, then goes to tend to the body of the dead villager, using strips  of the goblin's  clothing to cover signs of the rats feeding on him. He then picks up the corpse and carries it out of the room to where the villagers are waiting.

The villagers have put some distance between themselves and the cave, and are now resting on the crest of a grassy hill in the afternoon sun. The six guards are all holding javelins and shortswords, keeping an eye out for trouble.

As you approach, Morak says, "My thanks to ye for the rescuing. I reckon we should get back inside the walls, once we've all caught our breath."

The lady-in-waiting, Daphne, says, "Yes, I can't imagine how horrid it must be for Lady Nandar to be all alone. We really must get back and make sure she's alright."

The priest, Hiral, hands back the lighted stone and mumbles a sheepish "thank you very much."

Flint sets the body down gently near the guards on the hill and responds to Morak, "Was the right thing at do me friend. Ye asked about yer  axe an' armor, they in the caves or back at yer home?"

To Daphne, "I'm sorry me lady fer  puttin' ye  in harm's way. It's an ugly business sometimes an' I'd hoped we could get ye  outta there wit' nary a scratch. Now, I got some sad news fer ya, Lady Nandar  did'na  survive the attack on the keep. She's layin' in state there under the watchful eye o' Solace who stayed on ta  help ye rebuild. Sadly, many o' yer townsfolk also fell. I hate ta be the bearer o' bad news but I did'na want ye to walk up on 'em without ye knowin'."

//Yeah, we will need to help Beedo get set up as the new leader, introduce him to they villagers and make sure they know how part in their rescue. Then we can give the villagers back their stuff.

Also want to search the cafe. Goblin had to have some goodies for us, right?//

Ink looks around, "If we are planning on installing Beedo as the new leader, should we take care of this black blob for him?  Seems that it was encroaching on their space in here - who knows, if it continues to grow, despite Beedo's leadership, it may force them to go out again.  -- but first, we should take a rest of some kid... also, what felled the ogre????"

"A rest sounds good, but if need to fight, I'm up for it. Marav states, but is clearly lying, he is leaning against a wall just covered in blood.

Maybe help us take care of that blob for you before we go. Meanwhile, want to give me a hand getting the villagers their stuff gathered up. They are gonna love you little guy. You're a hero and now a big goblin boss." Marav claps Beedo lightly on the back.

"Hey Beedo, you don't have to be the new goblin boss, you could just come with us, you are pretty handy in a fight."

Seeing Daphne run towards the village, Flint yells to the guards, "Two or three o' ye go wit'er, I did'na pull'er outta there ta have 'er waylayed on the way 'ome!"

With that, Flint settles in for a short rest (hopefully:))
