"I think it is time we head back to the village and see what's going on. We also need to resupply and repair or replace our weapons. Also be nice to smooth the way over for relations between Beedo's clan and the village."
"They're just bats lad. Wanna have me a look down in that hole an' see if there's a cavern down there or if there's anythin' important that's been layin' down there since the dawn o' time."
As you chat and walk, you see that there's not much to the eastern tunnel—although it might have been useful to know about beforehand. This 5-foot-wide, 7-foot-high tunnel slopes gently upward as it travels east, and soon you see some dim light. After only 100 feet, it breaks through the east side of the hill, in the early morning over the valley.
"Anyone want to find a way to cross the fissure? We have some ropes I'm sure... Maybe Quill can get a noose on a jutting rock on the other side?", Ink states.
//This is about all I can contribute until tonight, please feel free to roll for me, etc, assume heavy use of cantrips from a distance and Quill for flyby help in combat and limited mostly safe exploration our of combat, and I'll go along with the majority of the group whatever they decide. If we go back to the village, I have an interest to speak to the innkeeper (Mondak?) and I'll be trying to convince the group about investigating the cloud giant Incursion that occurred and if there are any further incursions from the other giantkin on the rise. //
"I really don't think that exploring the rest of the cave is necessary. We should get back to the village and find out exactly what happened. I'm sure they're worried that something got the best of us since we never returned yesterday."
Rip at some point would have made an announcement to the goblins of the cave, probably before resting that at their new leader Beedo's request we killed the blob blocking their water. got to built up his clout lol.
Rip hands Beedo the silver pepper shaker and says "This evening I want you to meet with the village leader and offer him this as a symbol of peace and friendship, then we will work out a deal that is good for your people and the village"
"you guys explore, I need to get the villagers open to the idea of being friends with the goblins.... and that might be a harder fight then the pudding"
"Yeah I am done here. I want to find out what was going on in that village. Seems like something is happening, attacked so much in such a short period of time."
// Sounds like you're decided! Will move ahead if there's no objections. //
The village glistens with morning dew as you arrive. The drawbridge opens well before you get there. Already, more than a dozen villagers are hard at work, assessing damage and moving debris. The dead have already been prepared for burial, and lie on a cart near the temple.
The villagers turn and applaud as you enter, wordlessly hailing your presence as saviors of their town.
Hiral welcomes Angel, making sure to note the sign of Lathandar's blessing, that the temple was not destroyed in the bombardment.
// Go ahead and progress to 4th level once you arrive in town. A few villagers make mention that Morak is wanting to see you in the Nightstone Inn. //
"Hiral. I'm so happy to see that the temple was not destroyed. I actually didn't get to see the village before coming into the cave. I meet my companions on the way here. So, tell me friend what exactly happened here?"
To Angel and the rest, "I'll be heading over to the inn while you catch up with your friends. Please inform me of any news you learn while about the village."
"Hiral. I'm so happy to see that the temple was not destroyed. I actually didn't get to see the village before coming into the cave. I meet my companions on the way here. So, tell me friend what exactly happened here?"
In his usual verbose way, Hiral begins his story. "A few days ago, a cloud giant castle passed over Nightstone and dropped large rocks on our settlement. We were compoletely unable to defend ourselves against the bombardment, so we lowered the drawbridge and fled into the nearby hills, taking refuge in some caves.
"We were surprised to find a clan of goblins and an allied pair of ogres lurking in the caves. We were ambushed, captured, and brought before Hark, that awful goblin boss. Hark interrogated us, learned of the giant attack on Nightstone, and sounds like he sent a band of goblins to plunder the abandoned village.
"Then you showed up! Felt like weeks later, but it couldn't have been more then a couple days, realistically."
"I think it is time we head back to the village and see what's going on. We also need to resupply and repair or replace our weapons. Also be nice to smooth the way over for relations between Beedo's clan and the village."

"Let's have a look in the eastern tunnel first. An' if there's time, maybe have a look in that bat hole."
Flint hands Rip 5 torches.
Marav wants to return to the village, but Flint wishes to explore further. Who's going with Flint to check out the east tunnel?
