As soon as the rock hurtles past Flint striking the dwarf in the process, Ink readies a spell (at that moment, the ring starts to gently float down) and will use his reaction to cast immediately after the giant finishes her next movement. .
Ink continues looking at the imposing giant, attempting to portray a look of worry (which isn't too hard as he is legitimately worried).

Ink readies a spell (at that moment, the ring starts to gently float down) and will use his reaction to cast immediately when the giant either stops to engage his allies in melee, to reach up for the ring, or gets within ten feet of the ring (whichever occurs first).
