Rip raises his hand "her drinks on me, so... looks like your patrol was, shall we say, interesting?"

"I owe you an apology for doubting you," Tamalin says to you all. "Reports are no troll sightings—first time in weeks. Based on what Dafydd came back with, it would seem that fire giants are behind the troll incursions this far outside the Evermoors. 

"We wouldn't have been able to figure this out without you–and you seem to have provided us a service by killing that giant—so I'd like to present you with this," she says, sliding a slim, sealed scroll across the surface.

"This letter can win you a powerful friend in Everlund if you show it to the half-orc innkeeper at Danivarr’s House, or it can be given to a member of the Hand of Yartar in exchange for a special favor." 

"Well that's convenient, we were going to be heading there eventually anyway!"

"Thank  ye  lass, Yartar  is on our list o' stops. We'll be sure ta  visit  th' Danivarr  House while we're there."

Flint will finish his drink then prepare for the road.

Rip will shoulder his pack, "I'd love to stay and chat but I have a family and village to save, seems you aren't the only ones having difficulties recently.... You haven't seen a Kenku or a small group of halflings, two elderly and two children, around these parts lately by chance have you?"

"A Kenku? Nhek, didn't a Kenku come through here recently?" Tamalin asks the man behind the bar.

Nhek answers, "Yeah, there was one of them in here maybe a tenday ago or more. Tried to ask him questions, but no one here was really in the mood to try and figure out what he was trying to communicate. I figured he was just trying to warn us about giants in the area, and we already had reports of 'em. So after making a fairly big fuss and lots of human screaming noises...sounded oddly like my grandad's war cries really...and some children screaming."

Tamalin nods before answering the rest of Rip's question. "As for halflings, you're the first one I've seen around here for a while. After the Kenku came through the was a female halfling I remember, traveling all by herself, but she didn't stay long. But other than that I'd say it's been over a year since any halflings came through Calling Horns."

"I believe he was trying to alert you to my village being attacked and trying to get help, that was probably the sound of my children screaming. I understand you being unable to make sense of his attempts, but I cant help but be angry right now. so I'll bid thee a good day before i end up burning this place down in my currently distressed state of mind. Good day."

Rip will walk out and head straight for home not waiting another second, eyes glowing in arcane anger as flames dance about his hands, the others can catch up when they get going he reasons.

"I take it that this Kenku is known to you, Rip?" then, turning to Tamalin and Nhek, "I don't suppose this Kenku left anything written regarding where he was going next?" 

"Angel, perhaps you should keep Rip company while we find out if there's anything else to know?"

Marav quickly grabs his stuff and heads out after Rip. 

When his longer stride lets him catch up to his little buddy he asks, "How long a ride is it, together we can run. Let  me carry you to your family."

Flint quickly grabs his stuff and goes to hitch Boris  for the trip.

 "Not to my knowledge. I saw him heading northeast; he wasn't following the road." Tamalin shrugs an apology.

"Hey listen, tell the little guy I'm sorry," says Nhek. "It was a really busy day, lots of refugees passing through. Now I feel terrible."

"In these reaches, there's nothing I know of between us and the Evermoors," says Nhek. "It's Uthgardt hunting grounds. I try to stay clear of the barbarians, since they don't like my family much. Then it's the Evermoors, Troll country. 

"Northeast past the Evermoors is Silverwood, and then there's Everlund & Silverymoon...then the Nether Mountains...and Glimmerwood past that, with more Uthgardt, even some of their sacred sites. I think there's some dwarfholds up there, and of course orcs and giants live up there too. My nan was a cartographer of sorts, we'd spend hours when I was young looking at maps and she'd tell me stories of her adventures. Heh." Nhek stares off into the distance as if fondly remembering something.

Tamalin, meanwhile, bids you good day. "Hope you find what you're looking for—you're welcome here anytime," she says with a yawn. "I'm about to catch a few winks myself. Thanks, Dafydd, Nhek," she nods at everyone in turn before retiring to an upstairs room.

Ink thanks them and jogs after the group.
