The banquet hall takes up the majority of the first floor, but there are stairs that lead up—one at the end of the long hallway (the door you didn't check earlier); one at the back of the banquet hall, behind an alcove; and one near the foyer behind a locked door. The castellan's key opens this door as well.

I know Marav's abilities are as good in his half-orc form as they are as a dire wolf (+5), whereas I'm okay at times (+3)... what of you all? Who among you can lead a hunting party?"
Ink seems to be thinking about something and suggests, "How about Angel gets some help from me - maybe we get lucky... That leaves Marav with the help of Flint (who can offer guidance) and Rip (who can INSPIRE him)."

Hearing Rip's concerns, Ink replies, "You know when to best use your talents - if you think it best to hold off then do so. I'm merely supplying the idea."
Ink, grabbed by Marav as he heads north, "I take it that you didn't like my plan." Then with some stern anger to his voice, "Next time - voice your displeasure rather than just strike out on your own." Then shaking free of Marav's grasp, he says "And never grab me like that again." Ink then silently assists with his tracking.
