After digging around in his belongings for any notes on their meeting with Darathra tendays ago, Ink eventually remembers that they were simply to present the seal of Triboar to Dral Thelev. So yes, mission accomplished!
Common knowledge of the Kraken Society holds that they are a group of spies, smugglers, assassins, and slavers. The gaining of political power would certainly be a cause for alarm.
"I'm primarily seeking my children, a son and daughter, as well as my mother. The last information I had placed them as prisoners of the red tiger clan. We found the clans remains but no sign of my family or anyone else from my village." Rip sounds calm but is rather fidgity at this chance, absent mindedly rubbing his arm

[Does Crownsguard know of them to be of any religious significance as a member of the Order of the Gauntlet?]

Ink offers, "Rip, if you give Krowen a specific description of your children and mother, and have any personal belongings of theirs, it could help with any magical means of divination. If Krowen has access to such a tool."
// At Crownsguard, what do you mean exactly about religious significance? //
Krowen says to Rip, “Very well, I have something I use on occasion. If you’d follow me back to my study, and give me as good a description as you can of the subject I’m attempting to connect with, we might have a good chance.”

Ink quips, "Kraken Society... They sound like the type of criminal organization that, at best, takes itself way too seriously, or, at worst, are collectively certifiably insane."
Ink asks of Krowen, or anyone else in the room, "Know of any weaponsmiths in the city? We had a run in with a clan of werewolves - I suspect it would be a good idea to at least get my blades silvered."
Crownsguard might know that the Kraken Society is a sizable gang of ne’er-do-wells that operate, mostly unchecked, in the North.
As Krowen leads you down the winding stairs to his study, he answers Ink, “There’s a smithy over at the garrison armory who might be able to help you. Of course, if you’re going to a dwarfhold, there’s no finer smiths than among their people!”
Down the stairs and through the parlor in which you all appeared several minutes prior, Krowen takes you through an set of arched stone doorways and into a small, spartan room. There is a bed; a desk with many neatly organized papers, books, and scrolls; a chest; and two shelves built into the black stone walls. On one earth of the shelves is a ball made of crytal, which rests in a wooden stand.
“Alright then good sir—Rip, was it? What is the name of this child here?” He points to Roony, your son. “Once I know his name, I can cast the spell. If I am able to focus on him, and if he is willing, we should be able to get some clues as to his location.”
"It will help, indeed!" Krowen takes the dagger, runs his bony fingers over it, and mutters an incantation while standing over the crystal ball.
"I see...captives. Several humans and halflings are being held together, bound with rope. They are in a...cave? Well, it's underground. The place is massive. A good few acres, at least. There is a hole in the ceiling, far above. Roony is there, oh poor boy looks quite unsettled. I'm afraid I may have frightened him with the spell, I am sorry about that.
"There is fighting going on, but I can only hear the sounds of skirmish. Clashing weapons. I cannot see it from here. Torches burn here, there are many tents and ramshackle huts, as well as what appear to be tribal totems. Off towards the center of the cavern is a grove of snow-covered trees, lit by daylight."
"can you discern a general direction? is he hurt? Any idea if its two groups fighting or one against many? Marav, Ink have either of you heard of a grove of trees in a cave?"
“Alas, I cannot sense the direction, and the area is unfamiliar to me,” says the mage. “The snow is perhaps telling, as are the pine trees, but that only narrows it down to be anywhere with a high elevation or a more northern location.
”Also, the fighting is a small skirmish, perhaps only a few fighters. Now that I have had some time to listen, it could even be sparring. Difficult to know for sure without seeing it.”
Based on Krowen's description of the surroundings and totems, you are able to ascertain that this is indeed an Uthgardt encampment, though it seems perhaps temporary. The totems, as described, are not familiar to you...Krowen describes them as "covered in black pitch, with several short, branching arms." It doesn't match anything that the barbarians you've encountered so far had on them. It does occur to you (applying the Researcher feature here, since both Ink and Rip have it) that Krowen is the bookish type, and probably isn't the most skilled pathfinder when it comes to outdoor locations. Someone who has spent a long time in the northern regions of Faerûn might be a good bet.
"I am not sure how else I can assist," Krowen says, his face obviously troubled by what he's seeing. "Your boy is now huddling together with a small halfling girl. I am truly sorry to not be of more help. I do hope that it's nearby, and you're able to locate them."
"you have helped a great deal, I didn't even know if they were still alive before coming here. you have also given me the best lead I've had yet. Thank you."

Ink asks, "The language you hear - is it Uthgardt? The dialect of the northern barbarians? Could you describe the totems that you saw?"
Ink responds to Rip, "More like a Grove in a massive hole, it seems. I specialized more so in the lore of giants and dragons...."
