"Tell you what. You get the town guard ready, send out some scouts and we will take care of the wizard. I assume at this point he is considered an outlaw? Bringing in evil creatures such as gargoyles makes this wizard my enemy. We will go and.. " Marav smirks, "talk with him. And if that doesn't work we will eliminate the threat."
Angel, grateful for an excuse to leave, accepted the gem from Rip and left out the front door. Once he saw that Marav did not follow Angel decided to talk to the guards outside.
"Hi, my name is Angel, what's yours?"He'll wait for a reply and then continue. "Well, I have some questions about where stuff is town. But first, did you get a copy of Rip's book?" He'll wait for a reply and if they don't have a copy he'll promise to get them one once Rip is done talking to the Lord Protector. "I and my friends have been on the road for a while and are in need of some services can you point me in the direction of The Blacksmith, The General Store for adventuring gear, any magic item shops, a temple or shrine, a tavern, and I almost forgot we need to see Alaestra Ulgar we have a message for here from Nightstone. Please, and Thank You!" Angel ends with a bright smile on his face.

"I just want to make sure if it comes to fighting we aren't gonna be attacked by the guard if we defend ourselves. That's all, we aren't going to assassinate him."

The human guard looks utterly bemused at the rapid-fire questions.
"Ulthar," he said, introducing himself. "No, I don't really read much, "not interested."
Answering about the other questions, one of the guards interjected, "for general trading there's The Lion’s Share (T6), or this marketplace here, but you out-of-towners usually seem to prefer the Lionshield Coster."
The first guard offers, "And actually, Alaestra works there, so that's two jobs done."
The second guard continues, "Uh...blacksmiths are Uldinath’s Arms (T17) and Foehammer’s Forge (T18), up that way. Uldinath sells fine weapons, mind, they cost a bit more, but Harriet Uldinath swears that her work is better than Ghelryn Foehammer's."
A third guard, a dwarf, says, "Mind you, Foehammer was recentely given the title of Royal Armorer of Citadel Felbarr! Make of that what you will," he finishes with a wink.
"Yes me lady, th' giants're a real threat. Got word from Mithril Hall that they expect full scale war an' Nightstone lay in ruins wit' many lives lost an' homes destroyed. Even Lady Nandar lay dead, may Moradin bless'er. Me friend Ink 'ere knows more about th' causes an' such, bein' as how he been talkin' wit' Zephyros 'bout things ah don'unnerstan', but were ah ye, ah'd be at least puttin' some eyes ta the sky. Can be as few as two men ta give yer people time ta get cover.
"Now, ye say a stablehand is dead, an' th' wizard is involved. Is he no ta blame?"
"I just want to make sure if it comes to fighting we aren't gonna be attacked by the guard if we defend ourselves. That's all, we aren't going to assassinate him."
"I've actually been wanting to arrest him, but he refuses to come in for questioning and I don't want to risk the lives of my men. If you lot are confident enough in your abilities, you're free to try and bring him in!" She says with a shrug. "He lives at the Boar’s Rest (T15), on that ridge that overlooks the rest of town, to the north. It's a the stone mansion that Hyuth Kolstaag built himself, the wizard, when he retired from adventuring."
"If we are going, can we stop by the weaponsmith first? I think my swords and teeth are not gonna be much help against a stone creature like a gargoyle. Maybe I can pick up a decent hammer."
“Thank you, I really appreciate it. May Lathander’s light guide you.” Angel gives the guards a slight bow and leaves them to their job as he waits for the others to exit.

"Now, ye say a stablehand is dead, an' th' wizard is involved. Is he no ta blame?"
Darathra bows her head. "I knew Lady Nandar from when she would visit Waterdeep. I'm sorry to hear of her passing."
"The wizard Kolstaag is not directly to blame, but indirectly responsible. You see, afew weeks ago, a trio of assassins slipped into town one night and tried to slay the mage in his sleep. The rest of us Triboar were awakened by peals of thunder and blasts of lightning coming from Kolstaag’s estate, and though the assassins survived, they were forced to steal horses from the Cart and Coin and murder a stablehand to make good their escape. Kolstaag refuses to admit any responsibility for the event, nor will he make any attempts to reimburse the Widdens family for their loss.
"And that's just the latest attack. Since then, Kolstaag has enlisted four gargoyles to perch on the corners of his rooftop and serve as living sentries. And they are actively terrifying the townsfolk. Once again, Kolstaag refuses to do anything about this.
"If you are able to arrest the wizard, I'll see what I can do about the claim of rampaging giants." She sighs as she says this, as it it's all just a bit much.
"If we are going, can we stop by the weaponsmith first? I think my swords and teeth are not gonna be much help against a stone creature like a gargoyle. Maybe I can pick up a decent hammer."
"We welcome the coin spent in Triboar!" Darathra smiles. "You'll find that our economy is thriving and competitive, and our craftsmen have true skill."
"Whul have ye' run down th' asasssins? Seems ta me they need some justice o' their own! As fer Kolstaag, sounds like 'e don'na wrong, he's got th' right to protect 'imself an' 'is home, but sounds like 'is guards is causin' trouble, an' e' needs ta answer fer that." Flint glances at his companions for support.
Ink, observing, finally pipes up again... "Apologies for the sudden change in subject earlier - I do that sometimes. Many thanks for listening to us. I hope that we are wrong and that nothing makes its way here, but... I don't know. The north as a whole seems up in arms about this. As Flint mentioned, Mithril Hall is readying for war and I myself was deployed from Silverymoon. We'll see what we can do about this wizard - as peacefully as possible... My hope though is that you choose to send out a few more scouts as to perhaps provide an early warning for possible giants, just in case. There must be truth to the rumors you've heard or Queen Dagnabbit wouldn't have sent out a squad of soldiers in the care of a silver dragon to seek out and take down every cloud giant they could find."
"I'm on board with Flint - the wizard should be able to protect himself.... Although he seems to be going about it the wrong way. As I said, we'd be happy to investigate on your behalf."
