Ink steps in his way, still scarred and covered in ash, stating, "You never answered my question - how many giants? How many fire giants did you battle? How many giants scared you off from even the thought of honoring the bodies of your brothers so that they may be buried in their ancestral home?"

Quill floats down, landing on Ink's now raised arm, her eyes red like fire, her gray and black wings leaving ash and brimstone with each flap. 

"forgive my friends we were in a rather unsavory battle ourselves. where did this battle of yours take place? maybe me and my friends could help you recover (insert brothers name i forgot it lol)'s remains? After all, nothing is more important than family. Not even honor, or a large inheritance."

Lezryk's eyes fill with tears at Rip's words. 

"I...I..."

His hand goes momentarily to his rapier, but then into his hair. He grasps at the strands as he starts to explain, rushed and red-faced.  

"I had no choice...after Marthun and Rantharl argued, and Rantharl was killed, I knew I had to be prepared. So when the opportunity came, I struck. He wouldn't get the best of me. But...you must understand, this would ruin...their...reputation. Yes. My brothers' legacy must be preserved, pristine. They died heroically fighting the giant menace. I will soldier on as I must."

He tries to get around Ink once more, gingerly stepping around the smoldering visage. 

Crownsguard will extend an arm in front of him, hand extended. “Error. Elaborate. You have committed fratricide. Please confirm. Yes or no.” Crownsguard is not moving, and will not allow Lezryk to move on until he has answered all of his questions.

Maravs head bows, shadow falls over his face, "You had family..." His head snaps up... "And you killed them? And now you talk inheritance?!?" Maravs hand rests on his sword hilt.

//Not pulling his sword or even gripping it, more an unconscious gesture//

Crownsguard’s other hand motions for Marav to stay back, perhaps for safety, perhaps to ensure that Crownsguard receives a confession, or perhaps an old habit.

"settle down boys, none of us are prepared to fight and after the events we are responsible for we shall not judge. Tell me about this fight between your brothers."

Ink sidesteps Lezryk and levels his cold eyes at the nobleman's and asks with an iciness to his voice, "Was there ever a giant?"

"No, no, you don't understand. I was defending my own life, and my family's honor! I'd give anything to preserve our honor and lineage."

Lezryk stiffens his lip. "It's hard being a noble. You have to make the difficult decisions, the ones too hard for peasants to make."

“Confession: Accepted. Charged: Fratricide. Statement: Delusional. That is not your your choice to make. You have taken a life unprovoked and premeditated. According to Section 12, Bylaw 71, Paragraph 6, Line 3, ‘No sentient creature is to take a life, unless in self-defense, or the defense of another. Those that do are charged guilty under the planar court of law.’ You are hereby under arrest. Freeze.” Crownsguard casts Command with that last word, DC 14.

 Seeing Crownsguard's command Marav will reach forward and take Lezryk's rapier and hand it to Crownsguard. "Here big guy." He then turns around and walks over to the horse and starts to brush his mane out with his hands and soothing him. Keeping an eye on the situation.

//He is 1/2 turned toward the horse and 1/2 turned toward noble. If the command doesn't work and Lezryk moves at all Marav will not reach for his weapon. (just in case he makes his save)//

Lezryk withstands Crownsguard's divine magic, but willingly hands over his sword. "I am no fool. Listen, I could make you very rich off we were to just forget about all of this. I have holdings in the region, near Everlund, and could readily pay you a great sum. I am now the only heir to my family's estate, after all. It is surely in our mutual interest for you to benefit from my fortune."

"Do you not know who I am?! I'M RIP DANGERFIELD!! NOT SOME STREET THUG TO BE BOUGHT OFF!!! It is by my Moral discretion that you still live to face the law's justice, were I you I would be silent at this time save for answering our questions." Rip is very angry at even the suggestion that his honor is based on gold, and is already upset at this 'nobles' actions toward his own family given Rip's current quest.

"What is the judgement for murdering your brothers?" Marav asks.

“Correct. I would suggest that you, scanning for colloquialisms... ‘Plead the 5th.’ It would be the best option for you in your current state. Please do not resist.” Crownsguard will bind his hands with rope.

As you are binding him, the nobleman continues to bargain. "Three thousand gold pieces! Think of all the good you could do!"

“Yes. Think of it. Mortals are blessed with unique foresight. Your pesky moral compass always gets in the way of that vision, doesn’t it? I can do so much good if I take this bribe. If I just compromise my beliefs now, I’ll act on them later. I can do so much good with my inheritance, I just need my brother out of the way. Everyone gets in the way of that, don’t they? They don’t understand the sacrifice that your willing to make, do they? War. Theft. Murder. Acceptable losses. Be silent. Contemplate your error.”

"I'm not sure we have the time to take him to justice. Rips family..." Marav trails off.
