"Well, I tell ya, I was all fer kickin' the door in an' countin' the bodies later but none was willin' ta go with that. If ye wanna give 'em a few minutes 'ead start an' then go in after'em ah'll support ye, but my kind ain't all that quiet. Ah'd hate ta get 'em inta trouble by changin' the plan on 'em."
"I.... I never liked this plan. I don't even fully trust that Beedo, but for the life of me I can't read him."
Ink starts pacing incessantly. "Quill fly in, fly out. Stay within 100 ft of me. I want to see what you see. Stay high. Don't get caught."
More pacing.
"When Quill gets back - I'm going in. Sevari, Angel, and Flint - the invites open if you all want to join me. I have this feeling in the pit of stomach that this will all go very, very wrong. We go quiet. We go slow. Flint, oil your armor to get the squeaks out.... "
"I also like the idea of following in after them. The Order always said that a group is more effective than an individual. Of course, we can move quietly behind them so, not to blow their cover."
As Rip plunges beyond the cave mouth with Beedo into the darkness of the cave, Marav follows close behind and takes a look around. Quill, Ink's own familiar, flies silently past. Marav sees a vast cavern with a forest of stalagmites in its center and 10-foot-high ledges along its walls. Water drips from the stalactite-covered ceiling, which rises to a height of 30 feet in the middle of the cavern. Some naturally formed tunnels seem to lead away from this central cavern. The floor is littered with broken spears, broken shields, and drops of bat guano.
Rip, disguised as Vark the goblin, can see a male ogre bathing in a pool of mud, but not much beyond that and a few stalagmites. It's simply too dark in here.
Marav can see the ogre, and also four goblin sentries on top of the 10' ledges. Quill the owl familiar stealthily soars in and alights on a tall stalagmite in the center of the cavern.

Rip walks near the ogre and says in his best goblin impression "Hey big guy, we brought two whole pigs for ya but you gotta go outside to get em. Also brought some playthings for you to smash up!" persuasion 11
//Rip is going to try sending people out 1 by 1 as we search the caves for the villagers, unless he gets smashed by the ogre... bad persuasion roll but i can twist it to my advantage//
Ink, turns to the group outside, knowing he's both deaf and blind while seeing and hearing through Quill, he waves his hands signalling that they get closer to him and then whispers, "Holy Hell - Rip is talking to the Ogre - he's telling him that there are a couple of pigs and playthings out here for him.... I.... I don't think he's noticed the goblins on the ledges."
"From what I remember, the opening to the cave narrows down to ten feet wide... I could lay down a grease spell there IF I see the ogre coming out... hopefully, it falls down and we can all pounce on it. But I am not casting yet, in case our allies come running out first... If you all see me cast grease - get ready to fight - we need to get close enough to the entrance that we can pounce on the narrowed area and attack quickly." //i.e., 30ft away so that we can get to the doorway with our movement and attack.//
//DM - if Ink through Quill sees the ogre making his way to the front door, I will perform two immediate actions (12 seconds) - 1) dismiss the see through familiar ability to regain my sight/hearing, 2) cast grease on the spot where the cave narrows so that there's no way around it.... that will change some if our allies run out first, i.e., I'll wait to cast grease until the last of them is out. Sorry for the if/then - I have meetings so I don't know how often I can check in. //

Hearing this, Flint takes a wide angle to approach the cave opening from the left along the wall, ending about 10' from the opening and trying to stay out of sight.
Marav steps out into the thinnest point of the opening shouts "These are some fine pigs out here glad I don't have to share them." Then he steps back into the corner on the outside on the left against the wall.
Hearing the plan Angel will take the point on the right-hand side mirroring Flint for a pincer strike on the enemy. He stands ready with his quarterstaff in an offensive martial stance ready to attack the first enemy he sees.

Anyone have any crowd control? Something to keep the Ogre out of the fight until we take care of the goblins sort of thing?
