/ooc well that's what I get for landing a critical on every roll last time hehe

Even as Bel and Aregarak evade the cracks, Lana is knocked to her feet and begins sliding towards the expanding hole! 

// What does Spirit do? //

Spirit jumps towards Lana and tries to grab her with her mouth to keep her from sliding down the hole.

GB is knocked to the ground but manages to not be dragged towards the sinkhole. 

Meanwhile, Spirit has rushed to Lana's side, and grabbed her quiver strap. Lana now hangs over the precipice, dangling from Spirit's powerful jaws. 

The gigantic pale lizard below, about 20 feet down, is momentarily busy killing its catch. This subterranean lizard is easily twice as big as the one you just helped to take out, and eyes you hungrily even as it uses its teeth to sever the neck of the smaller animal.

There is still a path to the treasure; the left side of the room is still mostly intact. There's no sign of the Troglodyte inhabitant from earlier. What do you do?

//call me crazy, but I think we should try for the treasure.//

How high is the cave? Curious if flight may be an options for GB once he corrects himself.

Lana looks down and then back up at her faithful friend. "Good girl, now bring me up" she say softly.

Spirit begins to walk slowly backward pulling her friend out of the hole.

Working together, Spirit and Lana clamber back from the precipice. 

Lana gets up and pets her best friend "thank you" she whispered in Elven to Spirit. After regaining her footing she looks down the pit and sees the giant lizard.  "Perhaps we can continue to hit it from long range" she tells the group as she takes a few steps back to make sure she remains safe.

// Aregarak and GB, what would you guys like to do? //

GB will take flight and work to move quickly over the pit to get to the treasure.  While doing so he will cast a a fire bolt to occupy the beast in the hole.

Aregarak heads back out of this area, he wants nothing to do with the larger beastie that just ate the large beastie....

Lana looks at Aregarak "You are leaving the treasure behind" she asks him and she points in the direction around the pit. 

/ooc the treasure is not in the pit right?

"I came for dwarven treasures....I would guess these troglodytes were not smart enough to have found any of it..  Plus I have no desire to tangle with whatever is in that hole...."

“I didn’t come all this way just to leave empty handed” Bel tells them as he ducks into the shadows to make his way to the treasure.

Lana looks back at the big guy and yells "Look over there" she points towards the treasure that is not in the pit "That is what you all came down here for, that beast is in the pits and unless you get to close I think you will be fine, but if you want to storm out on your own because we all know how well that has helped us in the past" she shrugs as she follows Bel.

In the far corner of the room, Bel and Lana are able to locate a battered wooden chest full of silver coins, and also a valuable ruby (300 gp) hidden inside a black silk handkerchief. The battered wooden chest weighs altogether over 50 pounds (1,500 sp) and is rather awkward for one person to carry.
