The cultists have a moment to shakily glance between each other and one start to say, "We-we heard heroes were--" before the other cut in with a sharp, "Shut up!" Half a second later Wolfstine is there, dragging the cultists out of Thufir's grasp and toward the entrance to the barn. A cloak was dropped down onto one of their heads and both cultists went immediately silent.
“Looks like you’re with me.”Thufir says, lifting the one Wolf left after cutting the rope between then, but ensuring each was still tied up so they couldn’t fight. “So what about these heroes you heard of? What was the plan?”
Don’t know if I can use the same intimidation as before, or if you want new. If new: 26, if anyone is sticking around with Thufir to help: 8
Lord Vitre quietly approaches the front doors. Pixal lands on Vitre's shoulder. "Can you scout?" Vitre tests the front door to see if will open so Pixal can quietly fly inside.
If he can open it, Vitre's eyes glaze over as his senses transfer to his owl familiar.
The cultist jerks his head toward his companion, who is silent and stiff under the grasp of Wolfstine and the cloak obscuring him from view, and then turns his gaze to the dragonborn and hisses out a weak, "I-I don't know what the pl-plan was, exactly. Just to-to grab their att-attention. We know they-they are helping out th-the village. We've seen th-them!"
Pixal flutters into the barn and is not quite as stealthy as perhaps Vitre would like, wings making very clear sounds as he flies through room. Vitre is able to see rather plainly a massive stone grinding wheel this is still moving, slowly, and unmanned. It takes up the majority of the main floor of the barn, the noise almost distracting. Pixal can see a set of wooden stairs that lead up toward a loft-area settled along the eastern wall, and a series of ropes and pulley's that connect up through large openings in the loft floor.
"You're doing well to keep yourself alive."Thufir says the the tied up cultist as he answers his questions. "Not sure if we're the heroes you meant. But you got our attention now eh?"He then looks back to see what they others are doing, ready to drag this thug back to the keep, or find more of these masked shits to deal with. Turning back to the cultist he continues, "What are you all hoping to find in this town anyway? And how in the layered hells did you actually manage to get a dragon to help?!"
Gae-Al walks up to the cultists and proudly proclaims, "You shall all remember that the Ogolakanu tribe is who defeated you!" She then walks towards the door and asks the cultists, "Anyone in there? I shall add more names to those we have defeated."
The cultist, the one by the door, largely ignores Gae-Al's attempts at information gathering, although he trembles under the cloak in his silence. Not even Wolfstine's attempts at intimidation appear to help. The cultist stuck within Thufir's grasp glances around, frightened, before uttering a short, "You think we command the Dragon?!" with a bark of incredulousness.
Pixal flies up into the loft area and settles down on a beam to give enough of a good glance around for Vitre to look through his eyes. He sees several men laying in wait in the rafters, around two for every one of the current party. One dressed in robes, and one dressed the armor commonly seen among guardsmen--five robed cultists, five armored guards-like cultists. Ten of these raiders in total, laying in wait, weapons at the ready.
Lord Vitre comes back to his senses to his body, and recites a sort of riddle to his companions
"Ten crows, await at the peak. Half with black tongues. Half with sharp beaks. Will they flutter with a flame or a spark? All creatures are scared alone in the dark."
Wolfstine rolls his eyes shakes his head and whispers "So you're sayin the birds of prey are all up high, with lofty goals, ten to fry? Lets keep them in the coup, smoke them like a bee hive."
Wolf looks at the wood stacked there and then around to see if the wood is green enough to only smoke and not cause an inferno
He wolfs out thinking that this is a good time to do it Survival check 20
if the wood is still smoking he cold cocks the cultist in his charge to knock him out and starts pushing the wood inside the building and asks whispering if someone can help him smoke them out. and if someone can make sure and hold the door if the cultist start to break out so we can pick them off with full cover on our side.
For a full five minutes after knocking out the second cultist, there is nothing. No response. No movement from inside. The smoke builds and builds and builds -- and then something. A shift within the haze, voices that quickly raise and then silence themselves until one of the cultists pries open a window off to the side, slightly ajar. Because you are watching for it, you can see the window creak open as the cultist shifts to peer outside, looking for cohorts who they assume are the source of the smoke inside the mill.
"Toombs?" the party can hear being hissed from the window. "What the **** are you doing?"
There is more movement inside, another window pries open. Then a third.
Seeing the windows begin to open, and the voices come from inside, Thufir looks up towards the tower and grins as his eyes flash yellow-blue and a small spark appears on the edge of his blade. Pulling the spark away with his off hand, he points an open palm towards the window and a blast of blue lightning streaks from his hand towards the nearest window, and whoever is inside. As this happens he yells up, “Come out rats!”
Blue breath weapon dex 13 or 8 to any in a line behind the first as well by the door.
Wolfstine looks a the situation then quietly asks Lord Vitre "Can you make noise with that illusion? Make it sound like a hundred military men. getting off their horses, trying to hide?"
"SURRENDER SLIME! THIS IS THE GREENEST MILITIA! We have you surrounded"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lord Vitre raises an eyebrow at Wolfstine's suggestion. "I don't think my spells can quite do all that. At least not yet. I grow tired of ruses, they can't stay up there all day."
Lord Vitre peers into the smoke to pierce the mind of the first cultist within range as he starts humming the first few measures of the elven bladesong.
The cultists have a moment to shakily glance between each other and one start to say, "We-we heard heroes were--" before the other cut in with a sharp, "Shut up!" Half a second later Wolfstine is there, dragging the cultists out of Thufir's grasp and toward the entrance to the barn. Pixal flies up through the openings in the loft floor with Vitre's senses. The owl peers (21) into the loft with its keen senses.
"Let's see if anyone is upstairs" Vitre whispers.

Lord Vitre is intrigued by Wolfstine's lupine aspect, unsure what type of ranger had such skill.
"I don't quite have the magic for a convincing flame, but perhaps some cover."
Vitre conjures an illusionary bag of flour and hides (21) while pulling out his sling.
