Gintarouturned over again and again in his bed roll. He couldn't sleep. And when finally he felt drowsy, the warrior noticed a strange man with black Oar staring at him. Gintarou jumped to his weapon. However before he could reach it, the warrior found himself in the sea. He tried to swim toward the surface but his new armor and his dense muscle and bones dragged him into the deep dark water.
Gintarou screams, wakes up and coughs. "Darn! What the…!?" When he touches the beard and knows it is wet with salty water. "…Blood nine hell! I've never thought there's a day I would agree with Mist. God or not, the man with black oar surely doesn't like me. But we have a job and I can't leave this island, until it's done " Gintarou sighs as he looks down on the place where the old woman slept. "Ah… I can't find where the old lady goes. My brain is like soaking in the sea water."
No one is able to find any signs of where Sun went the area that she laid down is empty as if she was never there, her bed roll and small bag, which wear all of her belongings, are completely gone as well. You all decide to head on to Tideswatch. While on the way you finally start to see Tideswatch, but in front of you there is a line of 8 pilgrims walking, all with extremely heavy looking cloaks that are pulled down, as you get closer you notice that all of them are whipping themselves and that their backs are bloody. In the front is a man who has two whips and is leading a rehearsal of the tenets of the Oarsman in a slow, dull and monotone voice, and his congregation repeats the words back to him. You all catch up to the group just as the path wides from a single file line to where you can pass them. Once you are right behind the group the leader stops, turns and looks to you all and says.
“TIDESWATCH IS FOR BELIEVERS! NOT merchants or thrill seekers. Why do you travel?"
"Not as merchants and not for thrills," Druquilla responds walking past the man. "We came for answers, to find something lost. Now if you will excuse us we will leave you to your self mutilation and be on our way."
"You mock my god, and our ways! You will not pass us! Infact you will turn around!" The man straightens himself making himself look taller, and taking an agressive stance.

Kraven lets out a little chirp, Well here goes nothing.
Using his Psychic Whispers ability he will whisper in the yelling man's voice, attempting to sound like the man from his dream and speak in his head, "These people are Oarsmen, how you dare you stop them on their sacred quest, by my will, let them pass."
Persuasion: 3 Then will also use my Psionic Energy to add: 6 to the roll.
"You dare to question Mist the Great and Powerful, high priest of Greyhaven?!?" Mist shouts belligerently. "Step aside worm, for your practices are not our own! Do not question the unwavering devotion of my flock or you will come to know true suffering rather than this self-inflicted sham that your sect is so fond of..." Green lightning flashes in his eyes to punctuate his words (via prestidigitation).
Hoping to give Kraven advantage on his roll or something along those lines.
“High Priest Mist.” And the man bows his head. “Please forgive me for not know that was you. Please do not think ill of our ways, we have not been the best followers of the Oarsman, and must make penince some how. Please pass my flock.”
"Quite right!" Mist responds haughtily, glancing at the rest of the group, a little surprised that his antics worked for once. "Keep up the, uh... good work, chaps. And may the Oarsman take you to, uh... the... plane of astrology to, uh... row with him forever. Right. Bye, then!"
He darts past, hoping the other follow suit behind him.
As they pass the group Aubric will turn to Druquilla and say in Elvish incredulously "The plane of astrology? How has he managed to survive this long?"
Gintarou holds on his glaive which he used as walking staff. The warrior readies him in case the High-Priest-Mist things go wrong. And it doesn't. Gintarou loosens the grip and lets out a sigh of relief. "Hey Mist." He whispers to the halfling. " You didn't look like you were suffering this morning. What did the Oarsguy tell you? Did he really give you some kind of bless?"
Mist shrugs and turns to Gintarou after they've put some distance between themselves and the flagellating friars. "Slept like a wee babe last night. Strange dreams, though. This place is cursed, says I. But all this Oarsman talk is laughable! Imagine worshipin' a common deckhand! Hah! But none o' that is our concern. I just want to find this bleedin' rock and get the heck outta here on the double. I don't like it here..." He scowls and turns back to the path, quickening his pace.
"Pure luck or the blessing of whatever thing gives him power," Druquilla answers back keeping the conversation in Elvish then changes back to common to add to Mist and Gintarou's conversation. "My dream was rather pleasant drifting in the open sea, but I would agree that the Oarsman rather ruined it...if that was the Oarsman at all. It could be something connected to the stone or could be some power that noticed the stone." Druquilla just shrugs, "I doubt though it will be simple grab go though we should prepare for something big in the near future. Last one we had to fight a damn erupting volcano, maybe this one the whole island will be flooded, not that that will mean anything to you or I Mist."
You arrive at Tideswatch late in the day, sun is still setting, and a cold wind is lightly blowing in the air. Tideswatch bthe building itself is plain, but a good size especially for a single building in the middle of an island, a 3 day hike up a nearly straight up mountain. The roof is stone and sitting in a carved out section of the spire. You hear a lot of noise coming from the building, 2 types. The first is the sound of people talking the second is the sound of a blacksmith working. You enter to see ruffly 10-15 pilgrims, most gathered around an alter give prayers and other worship to The Oarsman. As soon as you walk in a woman in dark blue gray robes comes quickly over to you all her curly dark hair hitting just under her shoulders.
In a soft voice the woman speaks "Hello, I am Sister Selka of White lake, I am the cleric assigned here, is there…" she is cut off and stops mid word. The sound of hammering getting louder followed by a loud clashing noise she then turns her hear and looks to a corner where a wild haired dwarf is working as a blacksmith and the woman speaks again, this time with a harsh tone "Bolo I swear if you do not stop soon I will have The Oarsman turn you into a toad." As she turns the dwarf makes a sound, gives a ride hand sign and then continues to work.
Back in her original voice. "Of course these bad things happen to me. Anyway, is there anything you all need?"
Kraven the Dwarf is working at an odd looking object that is a combination of copper and thick cloth. The dwarf himself has short fire red hair and a bandana around his forehead with a 5 lens, only 1 is pulled down over an eye. Blue with brown trimmed clothing and a work apron on that has tools in the pockets. The dwarf notices you Kraven, "WOW!!! May I!" And with out any further questions or explanations the dwarf grabs one of you wings , and starts to move it around, switching lens, trying combinations of lens, all they while saying things like "yes, yes." Or. "Ohhhhh, now I see." And "well I wonder how I could...."
"Show some respect to spirits and deities! " Says Gintarou with a drawn face. "No jokes but the gods only know what kind of entertainment the Oarsman is preparing for us tonight. I already got seawater in my nose! We might wake up and find a big shark or blood sucking lamprey in our bed!"
>>Druquilla
"You are right" Gintarou nods with a grim look on his face. "One thing I can say for sure is that this journey won't be easy on us. It won't be easy at all…"
When they arrived at Tideswatch. Gintarou secretly takes out the magic compass. Leaving the conversation and negotiation to other members, he looks into the compass and checks where it's needle is pointing.
