Bors nods and approaches the Burgomaster "Hello, I am Bors, servant of Tempus, and this is my friend Martha. Seeing how well ordered this town is compared to every other town in this miserable realm I wanted to applaud you your effectiveness and learn more about your policies and methods."

"Well met, my interesting visitors, and many thanks on your compliments, my good man. I am Baron Vargas Vallakovich, and this is my wife Lydia Petrovna. Very nice to especially to meet you, Martha, we don't get many elves of your...type...in these parts. I hope you are enjoying your stay in my town? You are not from around here, are you?"
Martha kicks into polite nun mode and courtesies. “A pleasure to meet you, my Baron. I’m not from around here, no. Vallaki seems to be quite the festive town. So far we have been met with only hospitality. I should hope it continues.“

Bors nods to each of them, "milord, milady. No, not from around here at all. We are only here temporarily to be sure. Are there any special laws here my friends and I should be aware of? I caught the part about festivals, is attendance at festival mandatory? Any thing else we should be aware of? Out of curiosity, how long will those people be kept in the stocks?"
Kia runs up to Imryll. “We encountered six vampires, though none of them as fearsome as Strahd. Where are the others? We must gather and find a place of safety for the night.”

"So, Strahd plants his servants into every town and settlement. I wonder if there is a way to trap the vampires. It would certainly give us an upper hand."

it's afternoon. There's about 7 hours of daylight left. The burgomaster informs you that attendance to the weekly festivals are mandatory, and those who mock them are put into the stocks for a week or so, depending on the mockery.
"I see, thank you for your time milord." Bors withdraws, when he's out of earshot he says to Martha, "yes, I think you are right. The man is sadistic and excessively affluent. He may be too corrupted to serve me. Today I arrived as a visitor, when next I visit this town, I will arrive as a conqueror. this burgomaster will adjust to my regime or be dismissed."
"We should return to the inn and regroup with the others, but I would like to visit the stocks if it's on the way."
So a visit to the stocks, then back to the inn. Got it.

Briella begins wrestling with the boar to try and get up from where it has her pinned underneath it.

Briella pushes the boar of her easily and stands up to brush the dirt off her robes. Bakin snorts,upset at being pushed away and begins examining the other three companions. He makes his way around Irymll not very interested in the common human. He sniffs curiously at Kia before grunting in what seems to be approval. Then makes his way to Grishkar, he pauses to smell the elf, he is still for a few moments before he rams his head into Grishkars knees, not hard enough to hurt him but enough that it might cause his knees to buckle. He backs away from the elf and begins pawing at the road, staring the necromancer down.
“Right, right...” Martha mutters as they walk along to the stocks, before she breaks the silence, “Alright Bors, there’s something I need to talk with you about. Are you absolutely sure about this? I don’t know much about this place, but it seems to have a tendency to corrupt whoever lives here, even more so whoever rules. What makes you so sure that you’ll be immune to corruption? I’m worried that you could just become the new devil of this world, a dark lord with a different name.”

"My life experiences and my dedication to Tempus will save me from corruption. Surely you have noticed the ashen color of my skin, it is a part of a curse and a gift which I received long ago. This realm may try to twist me, and it may succeed, but I have a will and a divine charter. I will improve the lives of these people through conquest and justice."
OOC: Ruling and conquest are not evil acts, Bors believes in the right of the strong to rule and to duty of rulers to do so without corruption or undue personal gain. He sees corruption here and feels Tempus has placed him here to do what he does best.
OOC: Bors also realizes the removal of Strahd will create a power vacuum, someone will fill it but so far he's seen no candidates better than himself for that role. And yeah, Raven loft will twist him to evil, but probably not before he claims the seat.
