Cool Investigation 3
As the excitement begins to wear off Cool turns a sailor's seasoned eye to the ship. He knows most of it will be unfathomable to him right now, but some things like, kell length and beam length should be appearant to him, perhaps tonnage, passenger capacity and armaments as well.
I.S.A.A.C.S seems to distance himself a bit from conversations after the last bit, quietly tinkering about and simply watching and listening. Much as he disliked stopping what he was doing before any success he packed up his things to head up and take a look at the goings on with the rest of the crew as well.
Walking over to YII Spaerin "Excuse my interrupton YII, but earlier you mention you are a shipsmith? I applogize for not responding earlier, the bell rang and I got caught up in the momentum of our take off, no offense was inteded I get a little scattered at times" He says with a rye smile. "I am assume you worked and lived in Stormhome?"
Janor, who has been keeping out of the way, twitches his ear towards the conversation of Yll and Spaerin. His eyes go a bit wide - he had missed that Yll was a shipsmith.
" Let's go inside things should be ready for now. The Captain will be free I think." He moves toward the door leading to the captain's quarter and knocks first before entering.
A second later he beckons everyone inside.
The room is spacious but cluttered with many books and scrolls, maps, and navigational instruments. There are a few chairs but not enough for all of you. Nino stays by the door.
The captain is sitting behind a large desk, also packed with all sorts of letters and opened books. He looks about forty and fit, with raven black hair and deep green, intelligent eyes.
"Come, my friends, let's take the time to explain what we are going to do together. I need to explain everything to you, to decide if you want to stay on board or leave on our stop at Sharn."
"It... seems there is some explanation in order, sir. I've not been in an airship before, but from what the others have said so far, it seems as though this one is most unusual." He chooses his words cautiously, speaking with a slow, careful rhythm. A voice of surprisingly deep timbre and foreign inflection, from the other side of the continent.
Once Therne focuses his eyeline towards the ship interior and not into the wide expanse of open space to gall though, he seems to do a little better. This only increases as they get into a room altogether. Finally, into a seat, he feels the most secure and relaxes a bit more. This time though he silently waits.
Kathrine takes a chair, crossing her legs and waiting patiently for the captain to continue. She glances to those around the chamber, sizing up all of those that are part of this journey. There is no judgement in her eyes, just honest curiosity for those she is traveling with.
"Well YII looks like once again our conversation is tabled, duty calls."Spaerin chuckles. Heading into the captain's room he leans against a wall, very curious about what the captain has to say.
Karogur scootches in past the door to get a clear view of everyone while staying out of the way.
As far as Katherine looking around, it’s pretty easy to see Karogur is here with determination to do something big, and excited to be doing it, but a bit lost on the ship.
"I understand your concern but I couldn't tell anyone where we were going before we were underway. One of the reasons we are stopping at sharn is to be able to let anyone who wants to leave, go." He stops to look at each of you in turn.
"The Blade is not like any other ship on the world I think. During the war, I found it when on a mission for my family. Though it was pretty damaged, the design was so foreign that I decided to study it. And I found something wonderful. Unlike the other ships, this one is powered by a strange throne. We call it the helm. Magic users who sit on it can control the ship as if they were one with it. It makes the Blade one of the quickest and more maneuverable ships ever to fly around the continent."
He stops once more to see if anyone is lost.
"I have managed to maintain the Blade a secret for a long time but a few months ago we were attacked by a large group of pirates. The fight was a hard one but what concerned us was the fast that they wanted the Helm." His voice turns sad.
"Now we have to try what we thought we had time to prepare for. After our stop in Sharn we will leave this world to go explore the ones beyond. From what I understand." he points at several bound books, " there are a lot of places out there. One of them is the best-kept secret of the Cannith house."
"I'll let you think this over and ask questions then if you are still good to stay with us I'll explain what your role will be and what your first missions will be."
Cool:
The captain is telling the truth but he is holding back a few things. Seems that he is not sure of the readiness of the mission but that he is pressed by time.
"My decision was made when I set foot on this ship." Kathrine says with a slight curl of her lips, the sleightest of smiles. "Taking the word of the Silver Flame to worlds beyond this one will fit my needs as well as anything else, so my desire to continue does not change." She glances around at the others, wondering what they might decide, but doubting if any would turn down this oppertunity.
"I be here to stay. Various things be keepin' me aboard the vessel and/or focused on te goal ya set. Not the least of 'em being the monetary gains to continue fundin' me tinkerin'." The warforged says, figuring he would get his chance and then some to more thoroughly analyze this fantastical contraption once the details of their goal had been laid out.
“It sounds incredibly dangerous. The risks involved incalculable due to the unknowns on so many levels.” A wide grin spreads across Cool’s face. “I am all in!”
"I am in, I want nothing more then to see things that no one else has seen, what better place to do that then out there!" Spaerin says a huge grin on his face, his eyes showing his excitement.
"World's beyond..." Therne whispers to himself as he retreats deep in thought. He then nods his head and says, "That could work. I had joined to further research on aberrant creatures and one of the prevailing theories are that they are from a different place. What a way to see if it'd true."
"Very well, " he seems to be relieved but hides it well, " Now that's out of the way we will get to the heart of our stay in Sharn."
" After a lot of deliberation with my staff and friends, we decided to enlist a group of young talents to help us in our endeavor. " He smiles; "YOU. You will not have to man the ship. Our sailors are good enough and numerous enough. I'll ask you though to defend it when or if we are under attack."
"You will have tasks from time to time and go forth in our name."
"In Sharn for example I need you to go find someone specific, - we have the location and he knows we are coming - and also to go gather a few things for the crew. I might seem easy tasks but bear in mind that we are now followed and envied."
"We have a day of travel before arriving in Sharn. I'll let you rest and get ready. We meet an hour before landing if that's okay and I'll give you specifics. We shouldn't tarry too long in Sharn though."
"Ask Nino for any specifics."

Cool Insight 6
Cool tries to get some insight into the Captain and what he tells them, as much as possible keeping his own mouth shut.

Karogur nods assent. “There’s a place out there for me and mine. I have to find it. What would you have of me?”
