So Tommary Sazarac is Tommary Sazarac, not a B-R or a R-B.  He's more self-motivated than inspirational, yet people nevertheless like to watch him, and he seems to know a thing or two whenever he bothers to speak as if he's not in the "show".  He is a (non-straight up) fighter though, so I'm opting to go Bard for the extra attack.  If he makes it to level ten see him going back to Rogue for the ASI for his intellectual heft (he's not just The Body, he's The Mind, at least self-conceit) and CHR spellcasting and personality tweak rather than getting big league with his magic game.  There's some self centered rogue maneuvers alonge that progression he's invested in and I see him going for those antics in the long run rather than progressing to master's flourish.

I'll take input, but I've been thinking of actually taking sleep.  I don't know if it'll ever be used, but I've been toying with a two round sleep followed by enemies abound.

• *cough-COUGH-Tommary-Cough* 😉 But honestly though, the reason Toots rarely uses attack spells other than Chill Touch is because my rolls are for 💩, and I don’t want to waste spell slots. You are absolutely right though, Ely would be the best target for GI. And between her Rod of Apps being a Flame Tongue + Smite…. That’s a whole lotta reason to give her advantage and it might be worth it…? (Of the three though, GI is my bottom pick.)
• Yup, it might just never get used… but it might get used…. Remember the slip-n’-slide of horrors room when he mocked us, and Toots cast detect thoughts and he wasn’t in range? The ****er’s scrying us, and they makes me feel squirrelly.
       If I was reasonably confident our PCs were probably going to have an opportunity to plan something we would want to keep secret, I would’ve already taken this spell. But I can’t be sure anything in this place, can you? (I’m not even reasonably confident that Santa wasn’t really Voldemort trolling us for lols. No matter. This is a team sport, so I wanna make sure that I am considering the teams needs ahead of personal stats.

Some you have noticed that the scarab had during the break made its way closer to Tommary. Or maybe it was just your imagination and it was close to him anyway.

Tommary goes for a grapple on the bugger, yelling "sack sack sack!".  For grapple athletics 13

If successful, Tommary holds the scarab aloft proclaiming "I HAVE THE POWAH!" but expecting nothing to happen, most likely, though there's always a chance.

If unsuccesful, Tommary probably starts yelling "off! off! off!" given the proximity he just threw himself into with the bugger.

Tommary successfully grabs the scarab.

Only he notices it look at him and stroke his wrist in a friendly manner.

"I have the power! ... and I think it's a soft power...."

It will only take one action to attune it.

“Wha’?!? Tom’ry Look ou—AHH!!! Wait, wha?!? This effing mountain….” Toots goes and takes care of her morning’s necessities, prestidigitates her hands clean, and begins to put some breakfast together.

"...is that bug comin' onta you?  Is there something we decidedly shouldn't know 'bout your proclivities, Tallboots?"  The words were completely straight-faced; the sly little sparkle in Ilyara's eye was not.

Tommary generally sees his action in life as a series of Face turns and Heel turns, and he's honestly not sure what turn it would to accept the POWAH of this possibly symbiotic possibly parasitic beedle.  "So um, sack while we figure out what this thing is?"

OOC: Probably won't be back till evening.  If Tommary is able to grapple the scarab into the sack, not sure what he's going to try.  Ritual identify seems to suffer whatever anti-magic effect it gives off, so likely same with Speak with Animals if he tried to talk to it.  I think one of us thinks this may be on our list of things to recover, but I'm not sure what it was called on said list. Oh and it killed Santa, right?  I'll hear everyone out before Tommary likely puts it on in effort to become The Lethal Protector.

"That thing stopped th' Saint of Winter from using his magic, and I'm gonna go out on a limb here an' say the' Saint of the North is a whole helluva lot stronger'n any of us.  Put that thing on and ye won't be throwin' a single pixie fart 'till someone rips it bodily off'a ya.  I'd say 'sack' seems best, yeah."

Tommary manages to grab the scarab and put it in the bag of everything interesting. 

OOC: Wysp, back when we first met the great saint of the north, Toots tried an Arcana check on the bug.*s I couldn’t remember what she learned, so I want back and checked and I think all you said was that it was one of the things we were looking for. I assume my roll (14) wasn’t high enough to reveal more than that about the thing than that. Now that the party has hit 9th level, Toots PB has gone up enough to affect her Jack Jill of all Trades feature, meaning her bonus to Arcana has increased by 1. Is that enough to qualify for her to make a new Arcana check about the thing?

 In addition, I assume the “bag of everything interesting” is the Bag of Holding? Should I be tracking that for the party, or Midnight for Tommary? I’m only asking to make sure I keep the bookkeeping straight.

OOC: I chose the bag of holding as a default as it seems everything goes in there. Tommary would also think it could crawl out of any normal bag or pouch.

Toots knows that it is the scarab you are looking for. It obviously has anti-magic properties. Seems as if attuning attaches it to you.
