To Prove D&D Exists for Echolon

OOC: It's either fight in there or fight out here, and in there we at least might score some information first.  Still, up to you guys.

"I say we go in, maybe we'll even get a reward," Tommary the Unworthy of Many Accolades beams.

“Alright lady, we’ll come in. But if anyone tries to eat me I reserve the right to protest violently.” With that Toots enters the room.

OOC: Is Toots the only one entering the room?

Elyona will enter with her, watching the spider people carefully. 

Ilyara will follow Toots as well, well aware that this is a trap and they're walking tail-first into it.

After the party enters, you notice a veil of webs close off the entrance. The female says, "For privacy, no need to be alarmed. So you say you are on an errand for the Elves?"

“Uh huh, that’s right.”

Tommary marched in with Toots.  There may be a reward, after all.

"We're conducting a survey and inquiry into the status of certain object to which the Elves attest they have a claim.  The Elves would like us to recover these objects, though that recovery would be largely contingent on the status of the objects.  We're also generally available to be engaged for further gigs in this economy.  We basically offer entertainment, applied violence and wandering until we haphazardly find what we're looking for foremost in our catalog of services."

"The Elves are always seeking pretty things, sparkling things, things which do not belong to them."

“As to the matter of who currently holds claim over said objects of interest, we know not. All we know is that the elves have bid us procure said items. The manner in which we procure said items is up for negotiation. First and foremost however, lies the matter of locating said items.”

"What is it you seek?", she purrs. "If we have it, maybe we can agree on a trade, or aid you in finding whAt you seek? For A fee of course..."

OOC: ... a loaf of bread ... a container of milk ... and a stick of butter.  I DID IT!  Ha-HAAAAAAAA (yeah....) though the latter is from an even weirder Sesame Street memory coaching sketch.

"We seek an ancient blade, a hammer, and the ultimate giant oyster fork also known as a trident. you all have oysters around here?"

"We presume that these weapons are magical? I will send out inquiries if you wish, depending on how much you value the information.".she ponders"..Oysters? There are indeed some but they are a type that live far down below."

“You presume correctly. What would your ‘inquiries’ cost us?”

"We would require 1000 pieces of gold and something to feed upon." she smiles again, showing sharpened fangs.

“Then I believe we are at an impasse, unless you fancy trail rations.”

OOC: Just to be awful and play devil's advocate for a moment...is there any godawful monster we skipped along the way that could be trussed up and delivered to spider folks?  I do not think it's a good idea, nor do I remotely believe they'd keep their word (nor does Ilyara fancy handing over a small fortune for dodgy 'services'), but I figured I'd be that ***** and ask.

OOC: Nah, we killed all the regular monsters (and ate some of them). All that’s really left are folks like the gobbos, etc.
