Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level.
Can this feature be used on spells you just gained? For example, when I reach 3rd level Aberrant Mind, can I swap Calm Emotions for a divination or an enchantment spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list or do I have to wait till 4th level?
As a DM I'd probably allow it, but I can see a strict RAW reading of the feature forcing you to carry the Psionic Spells for at least one level, since it says you have to gain them first before you can swap them out. If it was never really on your spell list, did you actually gain it?

Some friends and I were talking about it last night and we all agreed that we, as DM's, would allow the swap, but we weren't really sure that it was RAW or not.
Note, Sorcerers normally can only replace their spells with other Sorceror spells, not Wizard or Warlock.
The Abberant Mind grants you some extra spells and lets you swap those spells (and only those spells) for any Divination or Enchantment spell from the Sorceror, Wizard, or Warlock list.

That is a significant distinction.
Which spells can be swapped and for what was never in question. The question is about when the swap is allowed to happen per RAW.
As others have pointed out giving a strict RAW interpretation is hard. The wording says you can swap a spell after you have gained it and that is all. Nothing says it has to be a spell gained from a previous level. If you apply the Psionic Spell feature in the order it is described then first you gain the psionic spells for 3rd level, then you can choose one of your psionic known psionic spells to swap out including the ones you just gained. I can see people disagreeing with this interpretation though as if you immediately swap a spell you just gained, did you truly gain it?
Personally I would allow it.

I'm not sure if that is RAW either, but I'd also allow it.
I'm disappointed that tasha's didnt print the optional spellcaster rule that let non-prepare casters swap a single spell on long rest.
