So in the campaign I'm doing, there is this big eldritch god that we're friends with. He's the last of his kind, and we were planning on somehow re-starting his species. Here's the problems:
This dude is an Eldritch being. Nothing has a high enough CR to polymorph into him.
His species died out long ago, meaning Resurrecting spells won't work
What to do? Also, to mention, we are all lvl 20, so we shouldn't have that much trouble finding any magic items or anything.
Beholders accidentally clone themselves (or at least replicate to some extent) just by dreaming, and they're only like CR10 (CR13? not important). An Eldritch god should by all means be able to do something with all their power equivalent to cloning. It doesn't seem like something that players could handle.
Could True Polymorph or Shapechange somehow be used to help? It'll be outside RAW and into DM fiat most likely.
If he's a god he can just make more of his kind by willing them into existence. This is literally how other races began - a god just created them.
While res' spells have a time limit. Wish does not. Just Wish them back alive. There can be consequences to using Wish and this will be DM territory.
No matter what, this is for the DM to decide. Talk with them, not us.

Yeah, the wish thing does seem like the best option. Just to clarify though, he's not a god, just a large and powerful being. Not magic powerful, like Tarrasque powerful. Also, he's the size of Tasmania, so doesn't have that many options to breed with.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
Breeding him sounds like the easy way to go.
Sure would probly take abit of time or ageing magic.
Breed him with the race closest to his or the race that has the fastest birth rate and/or maturing/reproduktion age so you can breed faster.
And then breed him with that offspring and so on untill you get a 99.9999999999 of his race.
What you do is ask your DM what your options are.
Big no.
