I also clearly stated that Ritual casting and the ability to change your prepared spells makes One Ranger much better than 5e Ranger in terms of versatility in utility, and combat options so they can actually change their approach to counter the enemy strengths and exploit their weaknesses.
I think the same. The only issue I could see is for lazy GMs that wants everything hardwritten to be able to apply (those unique features stuff). But I think that strict class features way was left far behind from the 2nd edition.
Instead, one could argue about, i.e. giving advantage for tracking and find food on outdoors and things like that.
