No apologies necessary. I will admit I missed your initial response to one of my posts. It took me a while to respond as I missed it the first time and I wanted to make sure my response was well thought out. I constantly referred to the 2017 & 2019 Artificer UAs as I was writing my response.
Again, no apologies necessary. You are strong in your opinion about the Artificer just as I am. That makes for an enjoyable conversation. ;-)
Thanks I kind of guessed that initially but should have checked some time stamps. Hope we get a nice combination in the end, too eager to see the next stage now, it has been a month and a half now.
Agreed. I keep checking the D&D website looking for the update. It's like they are teasing us and dragging it out. I am curious to know where they are going with the Artificer.
I am feel impatient for more Artificer. That is all. As you were.

Im more excited for expanded spell list and more infusions (I'm an alchemist fanboy, so I'm already 90% satisfied, lol).

I doubt you'll see 5 subclasses. I would set your expectations low so you aren't disappointed. Personally I expect:
Expanded spell list that includes spells from SCaG and XGtE
Expanded Infusion list, including subclass specific infusions and Replicated Magic Items for the common magic items found within XGtE
1 additional subclass, 2 at Max. My bet one would be a Golemancer (or equivalent) that has a more beefy Mechanical Servant that levels up as you level up.
i'm guessing 2-3 new subclasses much like what they did with the new ones from other classes back then. if they are about to release it, they need to focus on that beta feedback and thus they need more then 3 total subclasses, since everyone has like 5 or so now. they need to have at least a total of 5, since we have 2 already i'm expecting 3 more. 2 at minimum, and i agree that i expect new infusions and new spell lists. but to be honest, just 1 new class as well as the new improved old ones here... i'd be fine with it until they release something else.

This is my expectation also; 1 new subclass, at most 2. I agree the 1st of the new ones will probably be a Mech based class and I wouldn't be surprised at all if its galvanisation/electromagnetic based to ride on those Izzit vibes of Ravnica. Even though they've just shy of confirmed the Artificer in an Eberron hardcover, I completely agree with the notion that classes should not be setting specific. I reckon Spurt, Chris Perkins' guest star PC in Campaign 2 of Critical Role, was a great example of an Artificer being adapted for a setting outside on Eberron. Anyway, this is as close to a rant as I'll get, so I'll go back to my tea and impatience now. ;)
Edit: Getting in before the keyboard warriors attack, Im not saying Spurt was an Artificer in wholeness of class mechanics, but it definitely seemed like it could be, at least in interpretation.

Love Spurt, and I agree that is easily one way of interpreting the Artificer.
Interestingly enough, I play a Kobold Inventer named Singesnout in my friend's campaign. He is a scrappy MacGyver style character. Last session he created glue out of his Urine and Cave Moss in order to muck up the latch on the jail cell so we could escape.
I don't think they will release too much. They still need to release the survey for the Revisit. But, if they are releasing additional material it is possible they have already made up their minds about the Artificer. I would rather see a more generalized Artificer class, and since they are releasing an Eberron sourcebook make a couple of subclasses that would fit in the Eberron environment.
They have already said they are not going to release the survey until the second UA containing the remaining Artificer content is released. No point in getting partial feedback from an incomplete class.

Obviously would never see 5, I'm just dreaming. Realistically thinking there will be 2-3 with what you mentioned as well. A Golemancer is a must, though I hope they throw in a curveball for the other 1 or 2 that we get. I REALLY would love to see a culinary based artificer with the ability to channel their magics through chef's utensils/brewers kit.
A horde of of orcs run towards your Rogue after a failed stealth check, he panics and freezes but quickly realized what he had for dinner... your soon to be world famous 9 Hells Chili. The smoke clears, all that remains of the ravenous horde is various scattered piled of ash and the smell of sulphur.
I guess people have a higher expectation, I only expected one more subclass with Wandslinger as my preferred subclass, however that would probably come with a change to Artillerist. I thought this was supposed to be a small addendum release but at this point it is 40 day work I do hope they did something bigger now as you say above. (But won’t be surprised)
Do you think any core changes from things they saw as feedback from reddit etc? Spellstoring at lower level etc?
@Arutha, originally my expectations were lower as well, but Jeremy Crawford has spoke extensively on this topic within the two Dragon+ youtube videos regarding the Artificer. That being said, I'm pretty sure there won't be any core changes until after they survey is released.
I agree this wait is annoying. I'll be playing an Artificer character for the first time this weekend. Well Artificer 1 / Wizard 1. I sure hope they get the new subclasses and spell lists out soon, as my character concept doesn't fit well with either of the current 2.
I just started an artificer in PbP. Lvl 1. It is really noticeable how slow this class is starting out. I would be happier with the class if they were able to choose their two cantrips after each long rest. 1st level magical tinkering has not been that useful. Still I am going to play it out and see how it goes.

I believe Jeremy Crawford will be on Dragon+ again this week and might discuss more artificer stuff including answering questions.
