@Stormknight When the update occurs will we also be able to create homebrew subclasses for the Artificer?
The Artificer is still in playtest. Until a final version occurs I don't believe D&D Beyond will be allowing you to make subclasses. They can't predict the changes that will come to the final version, which could mean all of the homebrew content doesn't jive with the final version, thus it would be deleted. Better to wait until it's final.
Will there be some sort of announcement once it's been updated? Or do we just have to keep checking the class level editor for when that specialization becomes available?
Would it be possible to recommend that the Replicate Magic Item choices include the description of said items similar to the other infusions?
Currently, if one doesn't remember what an item does one needs to search the item in the equipment section instead of directly reading it from the feature page.
I'll have a look at that over the weekend NeoPhantom.
We've just had a talk about where we are with adding the Artificer Update and a decision has been made to enable the changes to the base class for you all right now, as this is a holiday weekend!
That is:
Additional spells on the spell list.
New infusions: Enhanced Wand, Repeating Shot, Repulsion Shield.
New magic items for those infusions: Artificer Wand, +1, Artificer Wand, +2, Repulsion Shield - we're still working on the repeating shot weapons.
We'll continue to work on the two new subclasses, to get them ready as soon as we can.

Thanks. I love it when companies actually talk to us about what's happening. I could wait three times as long for something if I have an explanation.

Wizards released an update to artificer but the one in dndbeyond is still the old one. How long til we get the updated one?
Unearthed Arcana is usually on D&D Beyond a week after it's published.

No worries, thanks for letting us know that it is in the process! Can't wait to update some of my characters with the new subclasses.
Same. Battle Smith definitely fits what I was planning with my character better than artillerist does.

yes we know they plan to update the artificer unearthed arcana, we are simply wondering when the newest update is happening :)

There will for certain be a forum post and a discord announcement, and likely twitter too.

thanks for update, do we have an eta on when repeating shot weapon will be in equipment?
D&D Beyond never gives ETA for release.
The team are working on adding everything and it will be as soon as possible.
