i am makin a new charecter, a barberian\rouge owlin. i start at 8 level but with wulticlass the original class you take afects sertian things ( it's first time i am multiclassing so i dont know alot about it). so what is beter? starting as barberian or rouge? and i would like farther suggestions for the builed i am thinking to take 5 barberian path of the wiled magic and 3 rouge assassin. its rolled stats and i didn't rolled yet
I like starting rogue because you get two extra skill proficiencies that way, and Dex saves are so common that having two ways to boost them is worth it.
I'd reconsider assassin. The first feature seems really strong, but it's actually pretty hard to use unless the DM is purposely giving you opportunities for ambushing. Surprise is not that common.

And the two assassin features after that are functionally cosmetic in all but the most specialized of campaigns.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
ye i also dont realy shure assasin bat i don't realy see any other good subclass i thougt to take phantom but its only plus 1d6 3 times a day and it isn't conecting well to the beac story. i am not going to get to level 9 in rouge so i care only about the 3rd level fetures and while arcane tricster is cool he isnt going well with rage.
do you have any sagestenc?
the back story that he is a owlin with anger echus that has been chousen to be raze in an assasin/ thif guiled becous hes inate megical powel (wiled magic) but he is rely bud at being quayet and calm and all of that
I think, to complement Wild Magic Barbarian thematically, I would go with Soul Knife Rogue. It has a magical feel to it, but it's open-ended enough that you could reflavor it to come from the same wild magic that fuels your Barbarian features. It also gives you a bonus action attack you can take on your turn, which only uses a d4 damage die, but it still benefits from your Barbarian rage. Between your Cunning Action, your Barbarian Features, and the Psychic Blades you'll have a lot of options to juggle with your bonus action, but on the plus side it means you always have options to weaponize your Bonus Action. Many classes only have one or two tricks they can use with their bonus action, but you'll easily be able to use it on every single turn.
