With a very few exceptions (crossbows maybe) every weapon or armor in the PHB either definitely existed or reasonably could have existed during the Greek Bronze Age.
If you want to know the most common equipment of the period, padded armor or breastplate (depending on the wealth of the soldier), spear and shield, shortsword, and a few javelins was the “standard kit” for the Greek Bronze Age.
Theros seems to be Ancient Greece in much the same way Clash of the Titans or The Rock's Hercules movie are. I don't think you need to stress about authenticity. If you really just want to differentiate the campaign world, I'd say for sure no crossbows, and honestly no longbows. Probably no full plate armor. If there's anything you want that seems too anachronistic, you can just say that some Archimedes-type genius invented it.
There is mention somewhere in there of iron just being discovered so that people don't have to hold to Bronze Age restrictions if they don't want to. And if all else fails there's a god that can make anything and give it to his faithful followers.
I will like to DM a Theros Campaign and I am wondering if there is a list of the weapons allowed in the setting.
I assume Bronze Age era?
Anything in the Player’s Handbook is allowed unless the DM wants to make a specific exception.
Thanks,
I was thinking if there was a list showing the equipment of the Bronze era. I guess I’ll do it case by case.
