I know there are more than a few threads about this but they were all quite a bit old. My players got a cursed item last week and he added it to his character sheet. He has not purchased any of the online books, he just has access through my subscription. Can he see the cursed description? I'm sure that he can but I wanted to check before I said something and tipped him off if he couldn't see it.

Yes, they can. I create copies of it, removing the cursed text, and then add those to their sheet, at least until the curse reveals itself.
