All the instructions for moving a character to a  campaign say to first remove it from a campaign.  Somehow I built a character without being in a campaign.  How do I move it to my campaign?

The character is visible and accessible in My Characters, but without a campaign banner.  All I can do is View, Edit, Copy, and Delete, all of which work, but none of which offer a way to place in a campaign.

You need to follow the campaign link in the top right of the campaign page.

Thank you for the suggestion, but it yielded no joy.  Perhaps I misunderstood.

I went to My Campaigns.  In the top right are two buttons.  One is Create Campaign; I already have one.  The other is My Campaigns, which takes me to the page I am on.

Neither deals with my character, which I see in My Characters.

On the My Campaigns page, you need to choose View Campaign on the campaign you are joining. On that page is the link to join.

If the campaign is not on your My Campaigns page yet,  ask the DM to send you that link to invite you. At that point you can join with a character.

Every campaign has a link to join it. It's in the upper right corner of the screen when viewing the campaign and looks like "https://ddb.ac/campaigns/join/" followed by a long string of numbers. When that link is opened in a new browser window or tab, it'll invite you to join that campaign with a character from your collection that isn't already in another campaign or to create a new character in the campaign. If you want to add your existing character to a campaign of your own, just look up that link, open it in a separate tab or browser and pick that character from the list that will appear. If you want to add your character to someone else's campaign, get the link from them and do the same thing.

It's my account, and my campaign, so it didn't occur to me to send myself an invitation.
