There's a wealth of knowledge on these forums, all you have to do is search. If you can't find specific answers to questions you have, ask those specific questions, and you'll get answers. As for how to use D&D Beyond, you can create characters, use the compendium to look a rules. It all depends on what you want to use it for. Again, specific questions will lead you to answers. As for this thread, I'm going to move it to the General forum, as this is an inappropriate forum for this topic.
Let's begin with the basics: breath in, breath out. Ok.
D&D can seem daunting, an insurmountable pile of rules and intricate details, and to a certain extent it is. But, having never played, you are in the wonderful position of not needing to know any of it! I know that much of our wonderful community would be more than happy to help you out. However, we need you to help us help you. Why are you here? Where you invited to play in a group? Did you stumble across D&D Beyond and want to learn more? Give us a little backstory so we can build up your understanding of D&D and D&D Beyond.

Haha. I got back into Tabletop games a few years ago and I felt the same way. All of the above suggestions are great. Especially the breathing one. Here is what helped me:
Rules and other “how does this work questions”: Try listening to actual plays of other games. Critical Role is arguably the hottest right now but there a load of other podcasts like “Tabletop Champions” that are really great to experience.
For hardcore rules debate and general table management I’d recommend “Happy Jacks RPG Podcast”. They’re rough around the edges but a treasure trove of wisdom. Think drunken master but with Tabletop gaming instead of kung fu.
For inspiration and some fun trivia listen to “GM Word of the Week”. Its like listening to the best teacher/professor you ever had in school/college but the subject is D&D.
There is so much info out there and most of it can be found by typing D&D into a search bar.
Good Luck and I’d love to hear back on how your journey goes!
I have no idea what I'm doing, someone please help.

Never done what before? Played D&D? Used D&D Beyond? Can you explain a little more?
A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
All of the above

I’m in the same folding-boat as you. I think.
I know how to play D&D. I’ve been playing for years.
But online is a whole new realm.
Good luck!
