Hello all! Like many of you I have loved the articles made on this site. While many aren't suited for more experienced players, some still shed insight on topics that we may not have thought of. Many of the articles were also fun to read. It was unfortunate that James Haeck left. I, like many others, thought someone else would start writing articles or something like that.
Then D&D Beyond started reposting. D&D Beyond didn't just repost the Ads, which I thought made sense, they have now started reposting old articles. Does this mean we won't get any new articles anymore?
Staff could you shed some light on this subject? Anybody have any ideas to what could be happening? Will we not get any new articles for a while? Is this a temporary thing or...
At the very least, I see it as an effort to bury James' goodbye post, which is pretty sad to see. Not happy with DNDBeyond.

i am not assuming i clicked view all and the goodbye post was right behind the kandlekeep destruktion article which was the last before clicking view all
Per the Dev update, "content" (articles and vid) are not something that DDB is abandoning. So I imagine there will be some form of writing put on the site in the foreseeable future; but the Dev update wasn't forthcoming as to what that will be.
I think it's fair of DDB to "bury" the farewell post since after a week or so the front page starts to make to give off the vibe of "Welcome to DDB and the James Haeck memorial". I'm pretty sure all parties involved probably thought it best to eventually replace the farewell with content that's useful for players, not his sentiment for the community.

The assumption is not that it knocked the post off the page. The assumption is that the reason they put those articles out was to bump it off. Maybe that was the intention, maybe not. At any rate as MP points out, even if this was the intention it doesn't mean that the motivation was somehow a slight on James.
I imagine there'll be some recycling of content until more content gets put up. Again the Dev update was pretty mum on how they're going forward. I guess Silver and Steel will be wrapping up shortly and while it's possible DDB could continue its current sort of "house game" and "lead staff writing" format, the Dev talk gave the impression that what sort of content and how to produce it is something they're always reassessing. I mean, the site's backbone is maintaining and building on the toolkit, so they have to be pretty consistent and focused there. The additional content is a more flexible space by its nature. Maybe we'll see a new lead writer, maybe they'll try out a few freelancers (kinda like what the TV world is doing with the Jeapordy! host now), maybe we'll see a D&D cooking show. I'll stay tuned and see what happens.
