Even if you never created any subraces for it, if you checked the little box next to “Will Have Subraces” (even by accident) that would be your problem.
Unfortunately you can no longer edit that race, you will have to click “create new version,” alter whatever needs fixing, and then republish it to overwrite that malfunctioning version.
It is always best practice to not publish your work until you have completed all playtesting and editing to specifically avoid issues such as this one.
