I've shared a large quantity of homebrew spells with the community recently, I would like to have some feedbacks to find out if you find that certain spells could be interesting for you.
When you cast this spell, you touch an unhatched egg and infuse it with necrotic energy. The life within the egg is accelerated, causing it to hatch prematurely. The creature that emerges from the egg is a full adult size horrifying undead version of what it would have naturally been. The selected creature type should be of CR 3 or less and should normally lay eggs (Basilisk, Griffon, Owlbear, Allosaurus, Ankheg, Ettercap, Gricks, Mimic, Plesiosaurus, Giant Snake, Spider, etc)
The undead creature uses the same stats as the base creature, but its type changes to undead. It gains resistance to necrotic damage and immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition. It also gains darkvision out to 60 feet if it didn't have it already.
The undead creature is under your control and follows your commands to the best of its ability. It remains under your control for 24 hours, after which it collapses and dies or until you use this spell to create a new Unhatched Horror.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the duration increases. For each slot level above 5th, the duration extends by an additional 24 hours.
That's a fun spell but it seems like the power level varies wildly based on the CR of the creature. You might consider making it a lower level spell with a lower CR cap and then raising that CR cap through upcasting.

Before the 24-hours pass, can I cast Hatchling Horror on the Egg Monster to reset the 24 hours like with Animate Dead? Or do I need a new egg? The wording kinda confused me.
It mean you can only control one creature at the time and you need a new egg. If you cast the spell on a new eggs before the 24 hours end the previous creature collapses and die. Perhaps I could remove that line, so you could control more than one creature at the time. What do you think about it ?
