Hey guys, I've had a paladin in my party lose their oath (temporarily).
I want to make a subclass to help the paladin in my party remember that. Any idea how I best do that? I tried making an "empty" subclass, but that didn't seem to really work out.
There is the Oathbreaker subclass that’s official for paladins who break their oath. I also have a homebrewed Corrupted Paladin subclass that I wrote. If you’re interested PM me as I don’t want to disclose it publicly yet.

Thanks, but that's not really what I'm looking for; The Oathbreaker has a bent to "evil", where the paladin was forced to renounce his oath. Thus even though he broke it, he did it to protect others. It feels wrong to make him "evil" with such a bent towards undead and fiends. Basically I want to make a subclass to alter his sheet, so he loses all the magical abilities (such as divine sense and lay on hands) but keeping his proficiencies, extra attack and such. Chances are he'll either take a new vow (changing subclass) or retake his vow to a deity.
There is no way for a Paladin subclass to affect base class features such as Divine Sense or Lay on Hands. You would have to change them to a Fighter or something like used to happen back in 2e, but then they would gain the base Fighter features like Second Wind and Action Surge. Your best bet would pro’ly be to simply leave them as a Paladin without an Oath (subclass) and they would just retain the base class features and nothing else.

Cheers, for now I've made a subclass of which the first feature dictates what they can no longer use of the paladin base class, with the other features remade to just have some creepy text. Should work just fine 😁
