Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with this issue I have. I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm not doing this right. What I'm trying to create is an item that gives a character +10 max hit points when attuned to said item. The attuned button is checked off as a requirement and I have the modifier set to "Bonus" - "Hit Points" Fixed Value: 10. When I test it out on one of my characters, the max HP doesn't increase and I have to enter a manual max HP modifier. Does anyone know what is going on? I tried "Bonus" - "Hit points per level" Fixed Value: 10 and that works perfectly fine, but the item doesn't stack by level. It's supposed to be a flat +10 HP.

I think the Bonus -> Hit Points modifier isn't for the hit point maximum as you expect, I believe they're for healing spells like Cure Wounds, so strictly speaking this isn't a bug but as intended.
I'm not aware of an alternative though, we'd probably need D&D Beyond to add a max hit points bonus sub-type, or change how the hit-points one works for item modifiers.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
Thank you guys for the input, would any of you know how to fix a damage type for a revolver magic item? I'm trying to set the damage from 2d8 to 1d10, but it's not registering. Normally when something doesn't register immediately on here, I just have to wait a while strangely enough.

The waiting is because the server’s internal cache needs to catch up to your changes.
Currently there is no way to adjust base damage dice for a weapon.

It sounds like you're using a Critical Role Blunderbuss as your base weapon? Is there a reason you're not using the [Tooltip Not Found] instead? It's a six-shot pistol weapon that does 1d10 damage as standard, and the basic ranges might suit you better for a revolver, so it should be a better starting point?

I have not found Bonus HP or Bonus Temp HP work in the current iteration of the homebrew system.

How is this still not working?
I feel like I read on another thread one of the devs saying that this feature was coming. That was in 2017.
