Super cool, tho I barely understand half of it lol. If it isn’t Warhammer or D&D I don’t know any game systems whatsoever lol.
I have a whole bunch of old ones from the late 80s, Warhammer, D&D Second Edition and 2e AD&D, TMNT, Heroes Unlimited, Marvel, Palladium, 2300 AD, Ninjas and Superspies, you name it. I read them all, thinking I would play them. Hah, silly me.
I actually know nearly every D&D edition, it’s a personal mark of pride. I’ve also played quite a few dungeon crawler games, mostly GW ones.

Ever play the board game Fury of Dracula?
It's pretty good, but I haven't played in a while.

I know how to play CoC 3e and 7e, original Traveller, one of the LotR RPGs, and every edition of D&D. I've actually played CoC, Traveller, Basic D&D, AD&D, D&D 3e, D&D 3.5e, and D&D 5e.

Thanks Half. How is Traveller?
I've only played the 70s edition, so I know nothing about the GURPS or Mongoose systems, but it's a good game.
Lessee… So Gothmog got beaten by Ancalagon, which means he’s top now. So…
Ancalagon vs Glaurung. I say Ancalagon again, just cause he’s so big. And like, made the Valar run for their lives (not quite but he still pushed them back).
Ancalagon is like undefeatable by anyone but Morgoth lol. Or a ton of eagles, cause eagles have like 5000000 hit points, AC 90, and 1,000 dpr in Middle Earth.
Like srsly tho, why are eagles the be all to end all in Tolkien's legendarium? They're undefeatable. Like, they did what the Valar couldn't and pushed back the dragons... Eagles are the most powerful thing in Arda, sorry Morgoth.
So, I just found out that apparently I have the exact same personality type (INTP-A) as Tolkien. So that's neat. And apparently Frodo, Arwen, and Johnny Depp also have the same personality type (at least, the INTP part). Just thought that was cool and wanted to share it.

Oooh! Name three parts of the Hobbit movies that don’t stink.
1. Smaug. Way cooler then the books.
2. We actually get to see the Dol Guldur plot that is only teased in the book! Gandalf meeting Thrain in there was awesome (even if they had to change up the book timeline to do it, it was worth it) and the White Council vs the Nazgûl was the best thing ever.

3. Ummm…. Thranduil is cool. Very cool.
I disagree with your first two points and think the changes either lessened the quality of the writing and/or felt like a bloated mess to pad time. I found movie Thranduil forgettable, so I can't comment on that.
However, here are the three points I would say:
1. The music, in particular the adaptations of the songs from the novel. I thought Howard Shore and company knocked it out of the park. Unlike Peter Jackson, the music team did every bit as good of a job as they had with the LotR trilogy.
2. The casting was excellent. Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Armitage, and the other dwarves were all excellent and played their parts well. It's not the actor's fault that they were given a garbage script and even more garbage direction.
3. I had to struggle to come up with a third. There were three scenes that stood out as fairly well done--the scene where the dwarves sing of their loss, riddles in the dark, and when Bilbo and Smaug meet for the first time were all generally well-done. Some of the few moments that felt like they were directed by the same person who made the LotR movies... rather than someone who got way too into the idea of making a long, dull, and bloated CGI snoozefest.

I am a massive fan of overly long complicated bloated movies and novels, so that isn’t really one of the issues I have with the movies.
Yeah I gotta agree. I listen to the Hobbit soundtrack even more then LotR. It’s really awesome.
Yeah, great actors. Steven Fry as the master of Laketown I feel should be mentioned too. He was awesome.
Also, you gotta read movie Thranduil’s backstory to get him. They only tease it in the movie.
Generally I don’t like the Hobbit movie, but this stems from a couple of big issues:
Thorin. He’s such a jerk. You practically forgot he has dragon sickness in the last one cause he honestly isn’t acting much worse then usual. Making Thorin more of a character was a great idea, it would have been great if he wasn’t such a ****.
Azog. I like his character and backstory, but he is hyped as and ends up being the endgame villain, cheapening Smaug and Sauron in the process.
Tauriel and Kiki’s relationship. It’s stupid and unnecessary, they only put it in cause the movie needed a romance plotline.
The ending of the second movie. It’s chaos and you don’t even get what’s happening, not to mention it is stupid and ridiculous and only there to make the dwarves look like heroes, which they already are.
Oh, and the stone giants are stupid too. And they could have resolved a few of the plots before the battle, it would have been more digestible if they had
That’s pretty much all my issues. I like the more dark, ominous, and mature tone. The CGI is the best I’ve ever seen, and IMO looks better for orcs then actors in costumes. They couldn’t have not had Legolas in it after we know he must have been there at the time. Making the Arkenstone more important and giving the dwarves a time limit was a very good call and definitely made the story better. Getting to see more of Laketown and Bard was great and much needed. The Dol Guldur side plot was awesome. The Nazgul are the coolest things to ever hit the screen: their armour and how they showed multiple cultures of Middle Earth was ridiculously good.
Never tried it. Was hoping you had.
It's pretty good, but I haven't played in a while.

Defo Morgoth
Morgoth wins, so now it’s Morgoth vs… Eru Illuvatar. So, Morgoth obviously looses. Guess that finished the vs stuff.
