A group of people stand in a walled yard. They are all children of about fourteen, and they all hold wooden swords. There are maybe thirty, separated into groups of about ten. In a corner stand a group of eight. There are two red-headed brothers, the tallest of the group, a female human with bronze skin and braided black hair, another human girl with short brown hair held over her eyes by a length of fabric, a thin boy who stays in the back, away from the others, a dark-skinned boy who seems to follow the rest, a blonde gnome who blends into the space between the group's legs, and a tall male half-elf with brown hair and unfeeling eyes. The half-elf looks to be their leader, and they repeat basic sword drills against bails of hay with crude faces and steer horns.
Avarice is in her tower.
Eris is breathing.
Szaren is reading.
Redyn/Abryn is drinking.
