I made this thread so that we can share and talk about eating some insects! I know, it might sound weird to some, but we eat raw oysters and sausage made from unidentifiable organs of various animals: Why are bugs so gross to people in comparison? Anyway, here we can share recipes, talk about what insects are better to eat, and just have fun!

Oh, here's a recipe I found: Inago no Tsukudani (Locusts Simmered in Soy Sauce and Mirin)! There's also two other recipes, but the locusts sounds the best to me.

One time I saw a short video in how cricket flour is much better overall than most normal flours. Cheaper, too, I think.
It's also a good transition into eating insects if you don't want to eat bugs that look like bugs from the get-go!
I've always been kind of interested in chocolate covered bugs a bit... mostly because I'm a Chocolate Fiend. -gasp- Chocolate Fiend is going into my sig.

I've seen and had crickets dusted in some spices and served in pouches like one would buy a bag of potato chips or Doritos at an American Major League Baseball stadium. They weren't bad ... kinda like corn nuts, which I'm not a fan of, so ultimately kinda underwhelming. Sorta like if you've even eaten alligator and realize, huh, basically gamey chicken.
There's a lot of food science and commercial ventures working to promote insects as a more viable animal protein as the $ and environmental costs of producing traditional meat continue to escalate.
How bout Tequila worms? It's a bug thread, so I think worms fit here too.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
I’ve tried BBC dried mealworms. I don’t recommend them, the shell pieces get stuck in one’s gums worse than popcorn kernel shells. Chocolate covered ants were delicious though. I passed on the scorpion and spiders (anything with that many limbs that lives on land is too creepy for me).

Did you know some spiders produce milk more nutritious than cow’s milk

I did not. However, I detest arachnids. If you pointed a gun at me and offered me spider anything, I might just choose the bullet.

Dried crickets were pretty yummy, very much like corn nuts. (And I agree about gator too.) I’d take crickets over mealworms any day.

It's come to my attention that apparently, scorpion tastes like crab. I... can't say that surprises me much, as scorpions and crabs are closely related. Still, sounds good! Just skewer a few of the little guys and roast them on a grill, and you're eating like a king! Who needs to spend increasing amounts on sea cockroach when you can just eat things that can kill you?

Sure! As long as its related to eating insects! If not, then we should take it to a more *ahem* professional forum. (spider guild & such)

Why stop at the skins? Just fry one whole and take a bite! They taste a little nutty.
