Thirteen is reviewing a section in his journal on nightwalkers and the dilemma they present. He’s also wondering why ‘dilemma’ is spelled that way.
Mauric calls to them. “Hey Efflore!”
Ani looks over after a moment, "Nightwalkers?" He asks curiously
Efflore looks over, "Yeah?"
“Creatures that appear whenever a mortal enters the Negative Plane. They are massive, destructive, and by killing them, you kill the mortal in the Negative Plane.”
“I was wondering, is there any way for me to get a job here?”
"Oh. Negative energy plane hm?" He leans over their dhoulder a bit, "So they're kinda like zombies, weird forms of life."
"Well, you'd have to ask, but I'm sure they'd be up for a new hire considering I'm the only waiter." He says

“Not really.” They resemble 14 meter tall horned dark violet demons covered in smoke with no faces. “They are created from existing necrotic energy when the life energy of a living person is displaced. It has something to do with the fact that the multiverse thinks they’re dead (since souls travel to the Negative Plane upon death) and create a new being, but since the energy of the person isn’t cycled back into the Material Plane, it has to use necrotic force instead.”
“I meant as a chef, but I mean waiting isn’t bad, I’ve done it many times before.”

Mauric calls to them. “Hey Efflore!”
Solanar glances at the journal as he passes. “Did you know about how they can create Bodaks when they’re in the Shadowfell?”
“Yes. I know quite a lot about the Shadowfell.”
Solanar nods. “May I enquire as to how? Stories always intrigue me.”
“Well it’s pretty much the same as the normal ritual. When a body is instantly suffused with necrotic energy and its soul is destroyed or banished, it becomes a bodak, a mindless creature of pure death.”
