Ayo you don't have to care but... It's my birthday tomorrow, October 17! Might not be on tomorrow because It's also PSAT day, but just wanted to get this out.
It's been one heck of a year, and at some times I thought I wouldn't make it. DnD, you guys, My stories (4 total) all helped me hang on. Let's hope it gets better.
Happy Birthday!

The latest dnd games I’ve been running have been the opposite of a sanity check. All because of one player
I'd definitely either speak to the player (if you're comfortable doing so), or pull the DM aside and speak with them, sharing your concerns.
A solid DM should look for a middle ground to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves - and if someone has an issue with a player - should reach out to the other players to see if they share the concerns. They may all be suffering in silence as well.
I’d like to except I’m the dm, the problems is coming because he’s an artificer, he chose replicate magic item as an infusion. He used replicate magic item on a fake magic item (wand of secrets), he got mad and said I cant keep nullifying his abilities when it didn’t work.

Have you as a DM used romance in your campaign? Or have you as a player, used romance - interacting with other players or an NPC?
If you have, let's hear some romance between character stories.... how is going... how did it go... (and I am not looking for horror stories between players... but rather anything between characters whether PC or NPC)...
Gonna be the goofy person here, but I honestly don't really like romance in D&D for my characters, and only enjoy it when it's comedic for other players. So there hasn't been any romance in a game I've taken part of so far.

I like romance in D&D as a player, but there wasn’t much to speak of in the one short campaign I ran, mostly because I was too shy to bring it up and none of the PCs liked each other that way. It definitely only works when it’s not forced and both people are really into it (or one player and the DM if it’s a PC-NPC thing).

An artificer doesn’t need an actual magic item to replicate one. For example, they wouldn’t use Replicate Magic Item on a wand of secrets to replicate one as an infusion, they can “replicate” anything on the list whether they’ve ever encountered one for real or not.
Yes. One of my current PCs, a female hin (Halfling) has an unrequited crush on another female hin in the party. Romance in D&D can work as long as:
Everyone who is to be involved in the romance consents to the interaction.
Everyone else at the table agrees to share table time for that storyline to proceed.
Since we have quite a few new people who have come to this thread (and those of us who have been here forever can also reply) - tell us about your favorite character! Whatever details you want to share - but let's hear why they have been your favorite character (so far)?
And really, if you got several, that stick out for different reasons, share as many as you want.
EDIT: And it doesn't have to be D&D specific. Have a character from some other gaming system you loved? Tell us about it.
Welp, I know it's fall because all the damn engagements are rolling in.

I have HRSA, NIH, assorted UN Subs, and a scattering of semi-private orgs sending me invites all over the place, trying to line up for their annuals. Which is great and all because hey, I am seen and heard, yay.
But a few problems: they often conflict with my games, they don't pay well, they require me to leave my home and, like travel, the food bites, and then I have to talk to people. In person. Usually in front of a lot of people. Which I dislike.
But mostly that first one. How can I ask my players to make time for me when I keep being unable to make time for them?
Grrr. Summer is always much better. Nobody ever wants to do anything.

No, the item was a fake, it was a unmahical copy.
Heh - now I am confused too.
Couldn't he just pick up a stick and say, "Look a Wand of Secrets!" (if the item was just going to be fake? There'd be nothing he'd need to roll as an Artificer - if he's not technically infusing an item?) I mean, other than a Persuasion Check or Deception Check for people to believe it's a Wand of Secrets?

Like Sposta said, you don't have to have a magic item to replicate it. That would be a completely useless infusion. After choosing a specific magic item when you learn the Replicate Magic Item infusion, you can use that infusion on any item that makes sense as a base (e.g. a bag for a Bag of Holding) when you finish a long rest, provided you don't go over your max number of infusions.
Getting the ability to make a Wand of Secrets (and only that one magic item, since you can only choose one item each time you learn the infusion) takes up one of four slots available, and actually making the item takes one of two slots. As someone who's currently playing an Artificer, I'd be upset as well if my DM simply didn't let me use it.
