streaking across the night sky is a bright, emerald green glow. A comet. It lights up the sky and leaves a bright trail of the same emerald green that lasts for minutes. Then, there is a large explosion in a nearby forest a few miles from the lair. Smoke rises from the distance.
Amidais looks up from the map on the table in front of him, seeing the streak of emerald slowly fading into the surrounding night. "This day just keeps getting more peculiar, doesn't it?"
"Truly." The Spider king shakes his head, sending out guards to go investigate, telling them to report back so he can check on it if its serious.
what the guards find is very strange. In the middle of the forest is a few acres of land burning with emerald green flames, same color as the comet. The flames have burnt everything in around a thousand feet of what they assume is where the comet landed, which formed a 20 foot deep, 50 foot wide crater, at the center of which is a giant (huge sized) sort of stone or rock, shaped slightly like an oval, standing upright. It is tinted slightly green and doesn’t look like a natural sort of rock, if it is rock at all.
One of the guards begins to backtrack, heading to tell the king what's here, but the leader o the squad pulls him back. The squad of 5 guards attempt to approach the rock, dodging the green flame to the best of their ability.
They manage to make it to the rock with some difficulty. It’s smoking a slightly green tinted smoke, and it’s radiating heat. Closer up, the guards realize it’s also slowly shaking, rocking from side to side slightly.
"Sir... what is this..." The guard teams mage will cast detect magic on the rock.

"I'd suggest my own abilities for a surprise, but the other king knows about them as well. Though... I did have one interesting idea. To give a brief summary of my abilities, I can create stamps that will temporarily rewrite the history of something. It doesn't actually change the past, but will make the object act as though it had gone through this history. For example, I could repair a broken vase, by changing its history so it was never dropped on the floor. If I want the change to last more than a few minutes, however, I have to craft the stamp specifically for the object I want to change, which can take hours. For humans and other living creatures it usually takes months to create a stable stamp, and hours to make an unstable one. The point is that Drummer and his clone, it's possible that if I were to create a soul stamp that changed him in some way, it could also cause the same change to his clone. I'm not sure what the applications of this would be, but if you have any ideas, I could get on crafting a stamp. Although... some rest would be nice."
"These are all good ideas, the element of surprise, abilities the clone isn't aware of, and some rest. With any luck, we have at the very least a few hours to rest here before we are found, half a day at most. As long as we remain on our guard... regaining our strength is the best thing. And then making a plan of action to reclaim the guild." He looks around, to confirm this with the rest of the group.

"Those are very good points, my king. Though our royal guard wouldn't be the most discrete, there is an alternative: We still have some machines left over from the Guild's previous war against the Jerry, ones that could help in the search immensely. I mean, it doesn't get much more discrete than being invisible entirely! If you wish, I can send someone over to the old Mech Bay to fetch some."
Amidais seems a bit hesitant to say some parts of this: He knows that machines aren't the King's strong suit, but those Mantis might be the best candidates they have for assisting the search.

New evil plan: don’t make treasure chest mimics. Make EVERY PIECE OF TREASURE INSIDE THE CHEST a mimic. And though it would be all too easy to have the treasure devour them, there’s an even more fiendish second option. When they put the treasure in their bags, have the mimics eat all of their stuff.

That really is evil, I love it! Another addition would be to have the mimic chew a hole in the bag, so the players items slowly drop out in a trail behind them, and when they realise and look at the hole, the mimic jumps out through it and onto their face!
