That is from the Movie, and originally the Broadway musical, Wicked, which is, in my opinion, the best movie that came out last year.
Ooh, I heard about that! I've been meaning to check it out, but I don't watch movies without my family and I don't think anyone else is interested.
Please, please do, it is a genuinely brilliant movie. If you don’t mind a little spoiler (though you don’t have to see it, so I’m hiding it)
This first scene, in which that song plays, is basically about an Angry mob celebrating the death of a misunderstood witch turned public enemy and her best friend being forced to pretend this is a good thing while Soprano Screaming into the void.
Goodness, it's totally dark comedy, isn't it? That's my favorite kind of movie!
Arrrrrrrg, but no one else seemed interested...
Dark? Definitely. Comedy? Yeah, at some moments. Super emotional and heartfelt? Absolutely. It’s like if you took a Shakespearean tragedy and wrote a synopsis of it in glitter pen. And the music. Is. So. Good.

Respectfully, I think Wicked is super overrated. Its not bad, but its not the masterpiece its made out to be. Its pretty standard stuff. What is so special? WHY is it a masterpiece?

A lot of reasons, in my opinion. Mainly, the music, the acting, and the story in general. The story is captivating to me, it explores the idea of people being treated differently based on arbitrary factors, like Elphaba being Green, and it does it really well. In addition, it’s fun, it’s entertaining, and it never ruins a scene for the sake of comedy.
The music, which is one of the main, stand-out parts of the show, was nothing short of incredible. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are both phenomenal singers, and together they bring the movie to life with their talent.

The music to me was the least impressive part. Sure, some songs were good, but really only like 3 or 4 out of the entire soundtrack. The rest was just okay filler to me. I don't know, the words weren't very poetic, and they weren't very profound or meaningful, the characters just stated what they meant without interesting wording, comparisons, or poetic devices, and it wasn't very above average instrumentally. Also I hate Ariana in general, they're okay in wicked. So that may be partially why I think a lot of singing in it is kinda meh. The story to me is fine, but it feels kinda childish in the wrong way. It's just kinda like, "we've seen this before, done pretty much in the same exact way." I feel Dr.Seuss, a racist guy, literally did a better job with this type of theme in the Butterbread war book/short film. And Glenda to me didn't seem like they cared at all to me in that first scene that the people hated Glenda, she just seems like she wants publicity and recognition. Hardly any moral qualms with her
