This doesn't have to be a mechanic, but some anemones and corals are adolescent jellyfish. What if they believe that they become jellyfish spirits if they die? Or maybe they serve some god based on a medusa (jellyfish) or a god who is the Great Barrier Reef. Another possibility, once they reach a certain age they transform into a giant jellyfish being who loses most of its intelligence, moving from sapient being to animal. This could be feared by some and embraced by others.

I don't know if you are married to the name Koralline, but the scientific name of coral is Anthozoa. Maybe they are called Anthozoans or something. 

I like the name Koralline, but I’m somewhat open to the possibility of a name change. I likely won’t do ‘Anthozoans’ because no one will know how to pronounce it, though.

I'll try the character thing. 

Captain Beves Athene, Captain of The Athene Crusader.  

1. Courage; Yep, There ain't much that's gonna shake this captain. however there's a thin line between stubborn and courageous. 

2. An Unfair Injury; Well, he's got a prosthetic arm and missing an eye. Though he got those through fighting before he had died. So is it really unfair? 

3. Skill; A Battle-raised human. Things he excel at are strategy and battle...and hilarious grandpa style stories. 

4. Funny; He's...funny like how an old man may be funny. You know horrible dad jokes and jokes at the wrong time, that sorta thing. 

5. Nice; To his crew and his queen and usually strangers, established enemies? not really. 

6. In danger; I mean, his ship is currently being raided by a topaz dragon soooooo. 

7. Loved by friends and family; I mean...more or less respect than liked or loved. 

8. Hardworking; Yes. No other words just yes. 

9. Obsessed; Yes, his obsession? Capturing the Bloody Barnacle, think of it as his way of retiring with a BANG.

 You've mentioned the whole 'the more people post on the thread the more popular it gets' thing. Those threads were lucky enough to get people to post on them in the beginning. (Plus, when talking about knights of Ni, cults/guilds/orders/whatever tend to have different expectations to be popular then RP threads)

 Im fine with this as long as it doesnt have laser guns. I really like Modern EMP apocalypses or games like scum where you loot and survive.

no laser stuff like in fallout, its just handwade shotguns and b-guns (cant say the full name its an inappropriate word) as well as a few pre war guns. (war takes place in 2013 so its modern day stuff)

but in all seriousness I love being able to play as my hellhound oc in the hazbin hotel tavern because they're so fun to be! you get to be kind of a jerk while also being the cutest most angry lil protesting cuddle buddy ever and yes that's because I'm a hardcore furry and if I could be one irl I absolutely would (minus the being in hell part)

For those of you who played Guild War, what about that game made it interesting for you? Was I lucky to get posts early or was there something else?
