Nearby settlements have received a few messengers, each unarmed and asking to speak with any rulers that they can. Each carries a small amount of welcome gifts, with a friendly smile and an intent to establish good natured trading routes. While their mastery of the other languages looks to be lacking, they’re quick to ask on bringing back books or other forms of methods to learn.

Far to the north, where the wind flays the flesh from bone and the ocean is perpetually frozen, you think no one would build a settlement here... right? WRONG! the town of Urat lies nestled near the foot of a mountain. Urat is a kingdom of Giants. frost giants specifically, who love the cold. here, they live somewhat simple existences, farming(somehow), mining, forging, trading, building, hunting. the giants focus on community, and hospitality, and the religion of their cold, distant gods. so Mutch so, that Uralll the enormous, the ruler and presit of Urat dosent live in any grand palace, but on the streets, spending his days presiding over the issues of the day, and spending the night out in the cold, as penance to his gods. many citizens wish to build ships, and trade with other kingdoms the treasures of the north, and so shipbuilding has begun.
*does the mountain have a name because I'll add it to the archive if so and is Urat connected to the same sea as himy or a different sea?*
*the mountain's name is Thall, its a different sea*
*do you have a name for the sea I'll put it in the archive if you do?*

He is escorted into the court of the Tayr's castle. The room is remarkably bare, the stone walls, pillars, and floors are exposed. A man who can only be the Tayr sits cross legged on a raised Dias at the end of the hall. There is no throne, only a tasseled, maroon and gold rug. You can see small birds woven into the fabric of the carpet. He black tipped spear is laid across his lap and twelve armored guards stand along the sides of the Dias with spears as well.
"Welcome to Hoeb." He says with a smile. "You are the emissary from Rhagoan, yes?"
He dismounts, tapping the butt of his hookspear on the ground as the attached bell jingles, the leopard lying down obediently. The man then turns back to Tayr with a smile peaking from behind the scarf. “That would be me. Thank you for the invitation- it is not often we are invited to leave our homes.” The way he walks is light across the floor, end of his spear sort of absently tapping the ground in front of him. “It is important to establish good will. Meeting those of other lands is endlessly exciting for us, and for me as well. Your home is very nice.”
"Indeed, good relations are priceless." He glances around at his surroundings, "Not as nice as it will soon be. I am currently in the middle of a redecorating process so everything is quite plain. I need to finish it but there are always so many other pressing matters at hand."

“Always. The work never seems to slow down or stop, so we may as well enjoy the process.” He bows his head slightly, pressing a palm to the right side of his chest. “My name is Khassahn of Rhagoan. Our lack of contact with outside settlements has left us rather unfortunately uninformed. I would love to hear your name, madjai, and perhaps a bit about your people.”

it's extremely hard to break the language barrier, as the giants don't seem to know any human language, but you get your message through. they would be interested in trade, and are even building ships to facilitate it, but shipbuilding takes a long while for giants

The messanger, a small and thin centaur, looks very happy at the news. They offer livestock in exchange for any amount of herbs, crops, fruits, or fish that can be bought. While the language barrier seems to frustrate them, the centaur attempts to communicate using pictures and diagrams, drawing with a finger dipped in black melted rock.

They take the book back, hooking it back onto their belt before they finish their cup of tea and stand up. "Of course, I'll let them know and have the book delivered posthaste. I'm certain they'd like very much to meet you as well. Thank you very much for your time. May your kingdom and people prosper." They bow again, before leaving and beginning the journey back to New Gladereach.
Before you return to your country, you receive more messengers from the Tayr. They come with the orders to accompany you back to your kingdom bearing gifts. These gifts consist of four beautiful rugs woven from brightly colored fabric, twenty gilded chests containing fine tea leaves, twelve massive, purebred stallions, and a silver cage containing a dull brown songbird that sings a sweet tune that always makes one yearn for home.
The journey the missionary and messengers make back to the steadily growing New Gladereach is a somewhat difficult one, as there exist no major roads or paths that exist between the two nations. When they arrive at the Cathedral of the All-Knowing Orb to deliver both the gifts and the good news, Grand Architect Jeeves is overjoyed. All the gifts are kept at the cathedral save for the stallions, which are brought to the stables outside to eventually use for helping pull carts or wagons.
The Grand Architect sends messengers back to Hoeb bearing gifts for the Tayr: These consist of a gladestone statue of a swan, a wagon full of fourteen barrels of mountain salt, two chests of salmon from the Tsaritsa river, the copy of the Book of Bronze the Tayr requested, and two chests of metal bars- one filled with copper, the other tin. While delivering the gifts, the messengers share that the All-Knowing Orb would love to meet them and potentially discuss the possibility of an alliance.
