I'm Brian. I've been playing D&D since it first came out. I still have my basic box set for nostalgia. I enjoy DM'ing and playing equally. I figured since I've been paying DnDB for 6 months I should get a bit more active here.
I'm currently running a Sunday irl game with my 12 year old son and his friends! It's been awesome. Bringing up a new generation of DnDers!
I like PbP idea and have joined one to see how it goes. I may end up starting one for my cousins who live in other states. We had tried to do a skype game but juggling everyone's schedule was just too crazy. I think PbP may be a good solution.
One of the things I do for fun is make wooden swords and video game weapon reproductions.
Yo, I enjoy RPGs mostly, but I like lots of video games. I'm currently playing The Bard's Tale for the first time.
I was introduced to D&D through Bioware's Neverwinter Nights, then soon after some guys invited me to play D&D with them in High School. I began sometime in the middle of 3.5's run. I wanted to try out 4th edition, but the guys hated it instantly without having played one second of it.... I still kind of resent that as I spent the next 3 years without any Roleplay games. Afterwords I have almost exclusively DMed since D&D wasn't really popular at the time. While I'm mostly indifferent to Critical Role, I have enjoyed this opportunity to talk D&D. I like wandering around the forms looking for questions to answer.

Nice! I remember that game. That was a fun game! Personally, I don't think you missed much with 4e itself. Bummer you didn't game during that time though.
Hello a couple of days late but it is nice to meet you all.
I am new to D and D but have a little experience with world of darkness changeling the lost. I have been playing video games for years. It is nice to meet you all.
I’m curious what you think so far in regards to D&D.
I’m at a loss for the World of Darkness. What is this?
I'm enjoying D and D so far though I have yet to get into an actual game (I have been looking up the rules, lore and other peoples stories of how their own games went).
World of Darkness is another TRPG often described as being more gothic-punk compared to D and D, by White wolf and the second generation of the series if you will. The first included Changeling the dreaming which was vastly different in tone to changeling the lost. Basically you have the core rule book of world of darkness which sets all of the games in a world much like our own modern world but if all supernatural stuff was proven to be true and the darkest elements of us (humans) were more pronounced. Then each race that you can play has it's own main rule book and side books as each one is its own game set within the world of darkness universe. Changeling is one of these along with Vampire: The Masquerade (which yes did have a video game based off of it), Werewolf the Apocalypse and Mage the Ascension being the main ones. The MMO the Secret world which has since had a re release as Secret world legends is also set in this universe.
The name's Até (It's like latte without the L.) I'm 32 and reside in Southern California.
I am relatively new to D&D. I've known about it most of my life, but just started playing about a month or two ago. Grew up with MTG since high school however. Currently playing a 3.5 campaign because that is what our DM knows. I do like the complexity of it. I play a half-elven ranger named Eroj A'stryk. Going to starting a 5e campaign soon with another group of friends because they like the ease of this version. They introduced me to this site, which is pretty awesome. Just made a lightfoot halfing warlock named Franth.
Aside from D&D, I am a service technician and co-own a podcast and video game tournament studio. Like doing outdoor activites from hiking, archery and target shooting. Look forwawrd to using and perusing this site.
I'm 48, and I started playing AD&D in 1980, I think. Played for about 8 years, until college. We played a bunch of stuff, from Tomb of the Borderlands all the way to Expedition to the Barrier Peaks.
We also played Marvel Superheroes, and our own version, called Small Time Criminals. We fought against the New Mutants, X-Factor, and tried out for the Hellfire Club. That was especially fun, because we could do pretty much anything we imagined. We would end up playing pretty much all night.
Fast forward about thirty years, and my coworker got me into it again, this time version 5. First 5e character was a Half-Elf Ranger. We only got about 4 levels in. Now I have a Tiefling Hexblade, and we're going strong at level 7.
I am married and live in Connecticut, US. I bought the Lost Mines of Phandalin Starter set in a book store a few years ago and just now am getting around to playing with some people from work, which is not to say I have not learned about the game yet. I am eager to be a player, but I also can't turn away from the urge to DM. I have numerous character I want to use in different campaigns and NPCs to populate modules and my homebrew adventures.
I am going to say the Heralds of Valdemar books are perfect for inspiration, especially the songs if you enjoy the Bardic tunes.
I look forward to playing Horde of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat, also playing and DMing Tomb of Annihilation.
Hello, I’m a longtime D&D player who’s been around playing since the Red Box D&D days. I’m here to get into some PbP games or maybe try my hand at DM’ing a PbP game of my own on the site once I get familiar and comfortable with everything. Some of my fondest memories of D&D comes from the 2nd Edition day’s and those crazy times when there were 9 or 10 settings on the go at the same time. My personal favourite from back then was the Ravenloft Setting, and I have something of a penchant for taking those old Ravenloft 2E modules, converting them to 5E and running them.
Anyhow I’m very happy to be here and hopefully will see you all in a game or two soon.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you
Nice to see more folks here from the 80's gaming days! I have some really fun memories of those days, playing basic and then 2e.
Ballingray. I've recently gotten into DM'ing PbP games. It's been really fun and also has it's challenges for sure. If you ever want to talk shop send me a message :) Good luck and have fun!

I'm 34 years old guy. I played D&D since 2014 and still play both at Battlefield Bangkok gaming store and online discord with my friend.
My favorite game campaign is Curse of Strahd and Tomb of Horror. I also played Shadowrun and Magic The Gathering. I love Dead Space, Assassin's Creed, and Persona series.
I love watching TV series and anime too. My favorite for now is Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Star Trek Discovery, Sword Art Online, Log Horizon, and Goblin Slayer!

Hello, I'm relatively new to DND (and TTRPGs as a whole). I've done a ton of forum-based rp but never really had the opportunity to try out DND until now. Looking forward to maybe getting involved.
Welcome aboard, I hope you find what you are looking for here. Personally, I like the fact that forum based roleplaying is far less time intensive than live tabletop, which is great especially when you have family and kids to worry about :D

I have an account here for quite some time now, but i think it's the right moment to finally start using it ;)
I'm fairly new to D&D, but i've had and still have active experience with role playing. In the past, i've played Exalted, Cyberpunk and Star Wars Edge of the Empire games with my group of friends. Now, from a lack of time i focus on played-by-post RP. I love video games RP. From the classics like Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, both KotORs to new ones like The Witcher or Mass Effect series. Most recently, my new center of interest are card games. MTG, to be specific.
I also like to watch some good tv series such as Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Stranger Things, The Expanse and many more.
At the end i'd like to say that i'm happy to be here and i hope to see at least some of you in the future games.
I live in Ohio. I’m in my late 30s and have played D&D since the early 1990s. I’ve played all editions but 4e. My first character was a half elf bard that I played almost exclusively for 5 years from level 1 to 15.
I’ve played all the big name RPGs and war games since the 90s but would love to play a Paranoia-styled game using the Gamma World books. If you’re a DM and haven’t played Paranoia I highly recommend it as it will change the whole player / DM dynamic!
I love D&D 5e and think it has the best parts of all the past editions. I’d like to see more MtG content but not so much it becomes splat-heavy like 3.5e.
54 year old grognard who started in 1977. My first game was with White Box. My first set was Holmes Basic. I have been mostly a DM, and will play or run almost anything.
When not gaming I am a reasonably fine artist.
