Hey I'm Porter the Bard, usually known as PRTR, as changed my username to that. I'm a big fan a D&D, and have barely played any real games, yet I've memorized all the rules mostly. I usually play bards as I have a (possibly unhealthy) fixation for music, in fact I'm a musician, I play guitar and bass guitar, and I used to play keyboard when I was young. I love music from 50s-00s especially rock/alt rock, pop punk, and the rockabilly that was popular in the 50s, like the wanderer, and basically any song in the soundtrack of Fallout 3,4 and New Vegas.
Hello, I'm Doodlecrisp. I also go by Fry Doodles, or just Fry. I'm kind of a neurodivergent dumpster fire, but I'm coping just fine at the moment. I got into dnd when I saw a book in the library, and the hyperfixation hasn't ended since. I love creating compelling stories and characters, and have 2 books in the works! The Portal and Beyond, which is fantasy-type, and The Elysium Project, which is sci-fi. I love art, but I neet to get better to call myself an artist.

I’ve been lurking on the forums and the 2 Story Tavern looks like a fun place to start with my character.
The 2 Story Tavern is great.
Oh sorry, I didn’t see your post until now. It’s pretty fun on the 2 story tavern but I’d like to do something more long term, like what you and Yvonne are doing on the Spider guild. I’d 100% join the spider guild if my character never interacts with giant spiders. (Arachnophobia sadly)

Go ahead! Join the Spider Guild. You can talk to Drummer or Yvonne about how to join. And don’t worry. I’m not a big fan of real life spiders either lol.

My name is Braylen I'm 14 and I made my account last year but didn't really get into it until now. I play with my 2 little siblings, my mom, and my Older sister. I am usually gm but I do have a character that acts as a kind of mystical guiding spirit for their adventurers in case someone else ever plays as gm.
I love gaming and cooking, I love to read non-fiction war stories, I am currently a freshman, and I love meeting new people!
I prefer xbox and Nintendo over ps and that will never change.
What’re you looking at? Never seen a nothic before? Don’t you know it’s rude to stare?
Look, I may lack depth perception, but I’m still a perfectly acceptable forumer. So wipe that smirk off your face, buddy, or I’m calling my uncle on you. We’ll see who’s laughing then, eh?
Hey I’m the Great Lord Bananer28046, Bananer for short. Bananer is my ONLY nickname. Please no Ban, Banner, Naner, or anything like that. (You’re welcome to do it if it’s on the nickname thread, but otherwise NO.) I post frequently. I am a new user of DnD beyond, but I’ve been playing DnD for a while. I do both DMing and playing. I’m in a few PbP threads, and some of the game threads, sometimes I ask questions on the other forums. That’s pretty much all for now… wait I also like to write. Now byeeee.

Hello all! TheSunkenSailor Here Resident Lore-Maker and Lore Enthusiast! I make lore for anything so ask and thou SHALL RECIEVE! Welp, that's about all I got, Till we meet again! Goodbye!
I love telling this story. I was in high school in the early '80s when D&D was new and AD&D (later called 1e) had just come out. I once saw some guys playing but did not know at the time they were playing D&D. (Someone told me they were playing a game. But I didn't get it because they were not moving little pieces around a gameboard like Monopoly or Sorry. That's what I thought of as games.)
About 6 months later, during my first term at college, my roommate came in and told me about this amazing game he and the guys were playing. He was a fighter with a sword and this other guy was a wizard and they were fighting a troll. The wizard hit it with a lightning bolt, and then the thief snuck up behind the troll and stabbed it in the back, and then he (my roommate the fighter) cut the troll's head off. The whole time I'm visualizing what he's telling me, not realizing that's how you play the game!
So I joined them for the next game. It was total hack 'n slash and I didn't know the rules, but we had so much fun! When I went home from school a few weeks later, I bought all the AD&D books. I didn't go back to college, but I taught some of my friends how to play and became their DM. Less than a year later I moved for work. But I joined a new D&D group with a much better DM and enjoyed being a player again.
Not log after that I attended my first GenCon (probably '84 or '85). There I attended a seminar called Role-ing Up Your Character. It was all about ignoring the random dice rolls and creating the character beyond the numbers: Who is this guy? Where does he come from? Who is his family? Why is he an adventurer? What does he want out of life? What's his motivation? What flaws does he have? (Remember this was 1e, so there were no character backgrounds, feats, personality traits, ideals, bonds, or flaws as part of character generation.) It was totally transformative. My characters came to life. And when I shared what I'd learned with my new gaming friends our games got even better.
I've been playing and DMing ever since; over 40 years now. And I'm never going to stop. I love 5e and the way the game's evolved. I think D&D Beyond is an amazing advancement. Using D&D Beyond and VTT, I was able to re-assemble a group I used to game with decades ago even though three of the five of us have moved to different states. Now we play every week again.

Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, "No. You move."
