Okay, so right now Kay and Thara are in the boat with the green ribbon and Harmony and Thoruk are in the one with the red ribbon.
Gamer Thirteen, you see a large cavernous room with a large lake in front of you. The stone ground tapers down to the shore, where a Dragonborn has brought three row boats close enough for everyone to wade to. The water is emitting a soft blue glow.
Kay, and Harmony, please make a perception check.
Adran, are you still in the water? If not, please make a perception check as well.
Kay is in the boat now. She waves to the dwarf, "Hi there! Hop in with one of us if you don't want to be left here forever!" (Kay is the bronze dragonborn who brought the boats to shore)

"Well, uh, sure? I wouldn't like to get stuck forever..." Krogar clambers into the boat. "Pleased t'meet ya, I'm Krogar Dordok."

"Pleased to meet you as well!" Kay grins and helps Krogar into the boat, "My name's Kay, short for Kayaws. Welcome aboard!"
Alright, so now we have Kay, Thara, George, and Krogar in the green boat.
Kay, as you are speaking to Krogar, you notice something scrawled in tiny letters at the front of the boat just under where the green ribbon is tied. George, as you investigate the ribbon, you find that it is well... a ribbon. It is quite old and frayed, and the color is faded at some points. As you investigate, you also notice the writing scrawled on the front of the boat...
The writing says, "Though your deliverance are we, your death also we could be. We push you on while in your hand, but don't be hasty to get to land."
Harmony, when you move to the front of your vessel, you almost immediately notice writing scrawled under the red ribbon. The message reads...
"When water stills so should you, to break the silence will be your doom."

"So, where are we? I was wandering around the mountains, looking for the orcs that had been attacking Clanhold Nevwaron, when the ground gave way, and here I am." Krogar says, looking at the water uneasily. He's not a very good swimmer, and wearing heavy metal armor doesn't help.
Krogar, in order to get to the boat, you had to wade through the water--which is glowing blue. The water came just above your ankles before you reached the boat. After Kay helps you in, and you look warily downward towards the shimmering water, you notice...
Your plate boots and the bottom edges of your greaves appear to have small reddish spots blossoming on them at a rapid pace.

"Oh no! Is that rust? Can't be..." Krogar pokes one of the spots.

Sure enough, when you poke one of the reddish spots, it crumbles away leaving a red-edged hole in your armor which continues to spread.

"AAH! RUST MONSTER!!" Krogar has a traumatic flashback to when the rust monster ate his shield. He pulls the boots off and throws them into the river.
Kay thinks for a moment, then looks at the oars, "Well, this riddle is clearly talking about oars. I'm not sure how they could kill us." She calls to Harmony and Adran and relays the riddle to them, "Is there more writing at the front of your boats?"
At the sound of Krogar's boot's splashing into the water, Kay turns to look at him, "What was that about?"

“Yeah- we need to be still and quiet when the water is. What does the other boat say?” Harmony leans over to look at the green ribbon boat.

"The water made them rust?!" Kay looks shocked. She starts to check all of the buckles on her various belts. As she does this she says, "I'm glad I've made a habit of keeping my gear out of water."
