if it wants us to be as still as the water then we can only row when the water is disturbed. . .
adran will cast fire bolt at the water to make it ripple
The fireball strikes the water in a sizzling splash, sending up steam as it is absorbed by the glowing water. You manage to make a large splash, which is slowly evened out by the smaller natural waves (which, by the way, are moving away from you).
Right now I think we have...
Green boat: Kay, Thara, Krogar, and Angelino
Red boat: Adran, Harmony, and Thoruk
Blue boat...empty?
George is in the Green boat as well
Lol, I knew that, I just missed him when writing the names out... The green boat is just about at its limit, and is sitting lower in the water than the red boat is.
As soon as the green boat enters the flat spot, Kay will call for Thara to stop rowing an lift the oars out of the water. (Kay already took her's out)
Also, who won the race? Lol, what do we need to roll for that?
Oh! I didn't realize that anyone had started moving yet.
Sure, anyone rowing (and racing) can give me an athletics check.
Krogar looks around nervously. "How do we get out of here, anyhow?"
Kay looks back at him, "That depends on what you call 'here'. If you're talking about this room, we'll get out as soon as we find the next door. If you mean this place in general, never. We're all stuck here forever.... Unless your Jerry that is. Or Stitch, haven't seen him in a while." Kay shrugs, "This place doesn't make sense. So I won't try an make sense of it." She gives a tired sigh and her eyes look distant for a moment. She shakes herself back to the present and places a hand on her forehead. "Yeessh those last to rooms are getting to me." (Krogar would probably have noticed that Kay's cloths are severely burned as is much of her body. These burns are relatively fresh.)

Welcome!
You are in a large cavernous chamber with a pathway leading down to a large lake. Just as you peek out from behind the rock (which you realize is a stalagmite) you see two boats take off towards the middle of the lake. One boat is floating close to shore, with a blue ribbon tied to it. The water emits a strange blue glow, and your ears are filled with the echoes of thousands of water droplets falling.
Kay and Thara win the race! And their boat skims into the flat spot as they pull their oars out of the water. Thoruk comes in close, but manages to stop his boat before entering the flat spot.
Krogar looks around nervously. "How do we get out of here, anyhow?"

The glow of the water has not changed, it lights up the area around you with an eerie light. When you look downwards, you notice dark shapes like kelp waving around in the water, reaching towards the surface, groping for sunlight that is not there. You also notice that there is no more noise. The echoing that filled your ears while on the shore and water before the flat spot is completely silent.
You realize that your boat is moving slowly over the waveless, glassy surface, as if propelled by an invisible force. You also hear the voice of a woman calling for help.
"Someone please! Please help me! I'm trapped and all alone!" Her voice has a sort of musical tone even though she is in obvious distress.
Everyone in the green boat make a wisdom saving throw:
Krogar, you must succeed a DC 13 with disadvantage
Everyone else, you must succeed a DC 12 with disadvantage

Keep in mind I'm in the UK so my time zone's GMT.
Definitely not an undead.
Thoruk will join in the race, and will try to stop rowing before the flat spot!

what does this mean?
That's what I rolled on the Wisdom saving throw the current DM had everyone in the green boat make.
Wait, do you mean "What does a failure mean?"

oh I see, thank you
What do the people in the red boat see is happening to the people in the green boat?
Only spilt the party if you see something shiny.
